What on earth is going on here? Mass Media Conventional Wisdom has always held that it is those nasty Republicans who are always trying to take our personal liberties and freedoms away, while the Democrats were always portrayed as looking out for the interests of the individual citizen. Thus, we constantly see the A.C.L.U. (American Civil Liberties Union) filing lawsuit after lawsuit to "protect" the liberties of American citizens.

When Presidential Candidate Obama burst on the national scene, he portrayed himself as the ultimate protector of the average, downtrodden American citizen. In glowing Messianic language, Barack Obama told his supporters that he was going to bring about true change in the very manner and method by which the White House was run.

HE was the change and he would be the very anti-thesis of that horrible "Conservative", Republican President, George Bush. However, since ascending to the White House, President Obama has dismayed his fervent supporters time and time again by keeping much of the Bush agenda in place.

In this instance, President Obama is mirroring President Bush's all-out assault on our Constitutional liberties by creating a prison system in which prisoners would be held without charges, without trial and most definitely without that "public transparency" which Obama so clearly promised during the campaign!

This last revelation tells us that Obama is trying to " institutionalize", or make normal and permanent, the dictatorial agenda of President Bush! This is not what Americans thought they were getting when they supported Barack Obama! III. At least one country -- with significant intelligence and medical resources at their disposal -- has refused Swine Flu vaccine!

The Czech Republic has refused the Baxter Vaccine because they are concerned about the very lives of their citizens.

What responsibility for side-effects? In America, President Bush signed into law an ironclad protection of all vaccine manufacturers against all potential lawsuits arising from their vaccines! The very fact that vaccine manufacturers felt the need for such government protection should convince everyone that this vaccine is designed to accomplish some goal other than protecting people against a virus, which -- like all viruses -- mutates so rapidly that a vaccine could never work.

"... Deputy Health minister Marek Snajdr was quoted as saying the vaccine 'may have side effects and it may even cause death if used'. Confirmed cases of H1N1 flu in the country remain below 150, according to all estimates, and no one has died from the virus."

The idea that the Obama Administration plans to inoculate 160 million citizens in order to prevent less than 200 deaths represents the height of stupidity -- but most of the whole nation is about to fall for this lie.

IV. State governors are battling the Pentagon for control over their own National Guard units!

The moment state governors lose total control over the National Guard is the moment America has officially lost the battle for our freedoms. Some people argue we have already reached this point.

"The National Governors Association sent a letter Friday to the U.S. Department of Defense condemning an effort to usurp domestic control of National Guard and federal forces deployed in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack. Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas (R), chairman of the National Governors Association, and Vice Chairman Gov. Joe Manchin (D) of West Virginia penned [the] letter opposing the Pentagon proposal, which they said would hinder a state’s effort to respond to a disaster'."

State governors realized in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina that they no longer controlled the National Guard. The Federal Government made a horrific mess out of their response to the disaster caused by the rampaging waters, a mess so large that significant numbers of people seriously questioned whether the country was headed down the right road in the trend of Federalizing all state, local and National Guard units.

Now, the governor's association is being very specific.

"We are concerned that the legislative proposal you discuss in your letter would invite confusion on critical command and control issues, complicate interagency planning, establish stove-piped response efforts, and interfere with governors’ constitutional responsibilities to ensure the safety and security of their citizens.”

" 'Without assigning a governor tactical control of [military] forces assisting in a response, and without the use of a dual-hatted National Guard commander to ensure coordination between [National Guard] and [federal] forces, strong potential exists for confusion in mission, execution and the dilution of governors’ control over situations with which they are more familiar and better capable of handing than a federal military commander', the governors added, reported the Congressional Quarterly."

We should not expect that the Pentagon -- operating under the control of the Obama Administration -- will ever agree to the governor's demands. But, at least someone has had the courage to speak out.
