John McCain attempted to defend himself against this monstrous blow.

"McCain, appearing on 'Fox News Sunday', said Powell's support of Obama did not come as a surprise and said four other secretaries of state had endorsed him."

Remember, in order to fulfill the "Mark of the Beast" prophecy of Revelation 13:16-18, where "no man can buy or sell save he that hath the mark", the economy of Antichrist must be cashless and so tightly controlled by government authorities that not one citizen can make one move without the knowledge of governing authorities.

Therefore, any move like this which extends governmental control over the individual citizen is helping set the stage for the "Mark of the Beast" prophecy.
