I. The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the Second Amendment, allowing individuals to own guns!

"WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting, the justices' first major pronouncement on gun rights in U.S. history. The court's 5-4 ruling struck down the District of Columbia's 32-year-old ban on handguns as incompatible with gun rights under the Second Amendment. The decision went further than even the Bush administration wanted, but probably leaves most firearms laws intact."
Liberals had long argued that the language of the Second Amendment only allows individuals to own guns if they are part of a standing militia! Our equivalent to a militia would probably be the National Guard, even though that force has been Federalized.
This decision was immediately heralded by the Bush White House! With Fall elections coming up quickly, the Republicans desperately need an issue which will galvanize their Conservative base -- and this decision is likely to do the trick.

"As a longstanding advocate of the rights of gun owners in America, I applaud the Supreme Court’s historic decision today confirming what has always been clear in the Constitution: the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear firearms.
I also agree with the Supreme Court’s conclusion that the D.C. firearm laws violate this fundamental constitutional right. The District of Columbia should now swiftly move to ensure that its residents' rights under the Second Amendment are fully protected."
Immediately the more Liberal Democrats served notice that they are not going to take this decision lying down. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif), specifically addressed the District of Columbia (D.C.) firearms laws.

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says that despite the Supreme Court decision to strike down its gun ban, the District of Columbia will still be able to regulate firearms. 'I think it still allows the District of Columbia to come forward with a law that’s less pervasive', Pelosi said at her weekly briefing Thursday. 'I think the court left a lot of room to run in terms of concealed weapons and guns near schools'."
Isn't that a typical Liberal? When one of their most cherished goals is knocked down, they instantly start thinking of ways to get around the defeat.
However, the National Rifle Association served notice that they are now going to go on attack against every single state and /or city which has passed gun control legislation contrary to the Supreme Court's decision.

"The National Rifle Association (NRA) says it will begin filing lawsuits as early as tomorrow to challenge gun laws in counties across the country, following today's Supreme Court ruling against D.C.'s ban on handguns ... 'We certainly are gonna go and challenge any law that treats gun owners as second-class citizens', Cox told The Hill, calling today's decision a 'big victory' for gun owners nationwide."
The NRA has set its sites on several cities right away.
"A suit against San Francisco could come as early as tomorrow, while suits against suburbs of Chicago may be filed as early as next week, NRA chief lobbyist Chris Cox told The Hill. The group is reviewing statutes across the country and has yet to determine how many it will file, Cox said ... The Illinois State Rifle Association has already filed suit against the city of Chicago challenging its handgun ban."
The Supreme Court ruling gives the NRA great clout against gun bans.
"Today's Supreme Court ruling deemed handgun bans unconstitutional. The court struck down D.C.'s ban on handgun ownership, ruling that it violated the second amendment. San Francisco's more specific ban, Cox said, should be struck down under the ruling as well."
Finally, the common sense which is expressed by the book, "More Guns, Less Crime", has reached the highest court in the land. We shall allow the NRA to have the final say here.
"Cox hailed the decision as a victory for gun owners. The decision shows it is time for the nation's laws to 'focus on criminals and not law abiding Americans', Cox said."

Court ruling.

"Barack Obama said he is glad the Supreme Court has bolstered the second amendment's legal power but stressed that its ruling does not mean the end of gun control."
Again, we are seeing a typical response from a Liberal. They always look to find a loophole in a ruling which has gone against them. If Obama ascends to the White House, we can expect the power of the Presidency to be placed behind all sorts of initiatives like this one, trying to find the loophole.
Now, Obama shows his Leftist, Communist bent in this next statement.
""What I've consistently said is that I believe that the second amendment means something, that it is an individual right, and that's what the Supreme Court held, so I agree with that aspect of the decision ... What I've also said is that every individual right can be bound by the interests of the community at large, and the Supreme Court agreed with that as well'."
This is the normal position of a Leftist, Communist,and New Age mindset. The rights of the individual is seen as subservient to the government. This is the essence of tyranny. On the other hand, our Founding Fathers knew this principle, so they really went out of their way to ensure that the rights of the individual could not be abrogated at will by the government -- Federal, state, or local.

"Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) immediately seized on the Supreme Court’s ruling that Americans have the right to bear arms and slammed his presidential rival Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on the issue. 'Unlike the elitist view that believes Americans cling to guns out of bitterness, today’s ruling recognizes that gun ownership is a fundamental right -- sacred, just as the right to free speech and assembly', McCain said, referencing a major Obama campaign gaffe."
You have to hand it to McCain's staff; they found a way to use the Supreme Court decision as a knife with which they could stab Obama and then twist that knife to make the wound more painful. Do you remember the major campaign mistake Obama made when he said he could understand how bitter Pennsylvania voters can be, how they turn to religion and guns simply and only because they are going through such economic hardtimes?
"Leading up to the Pennsylvania primary, the Illinois senator had said that 'bitter' small town Americans 'cling to guns or religion', a remark for which he had received great criticism and that was used to describe Obama as an elitist."
While this ruling is very gratifying, we should not think that our right to own guns is now forever safe from government intrusion, for two powerful reasons:
1) The American Government will soon recognize that United Nations laws and treaties supercede the laws and treaties of individual nations -- including the United States. Therefore, the time will soon be upon us when our guns will be taken away by U.N. mandate.
2) The next planned terrorist attack will be used as the excuse by which either the President or the FEMA chief will announce that our entire current government is immediately dissolved, including the Constitution!
That is the Illuminati Plan for all nations whose citizens are now electing their leaders. Once the World War III designed to produce the Masonic Christ gets underway, planned terror attacks will occur all over the world. In each nation, the ruler will announce that, until the forces of terror are vanquished, the present government must be abolished.
When Antichrist arises, there will be no freely elected government in existence; all free governments will have been overthrown and replaced by an absolute dictatorship. Our Founding Fathers recognized that no dictatorship could take hold as long as the individual citizens were guaranteed a right to own as many guns as he wanted.
At this point, this heady Constitutional victory for Gun Owners will be rendered moot. But, for now, we can rejoice at this victory!
