It is interesting to remark how large a portion of Sacred Writ is occupied with the subject of prayer, either in furnishing examples, enforcing precepts, or pronouncing promises. We scarcely open the Bible before we read, "Then began men to call upon the name of the Lord;" and just as we are about to close the volume, the "Amen" of an earnest supplication meets our ear. Instances are plentiful. Here we find a wrestling Jacob--there a Daniel who prayed three times a day--and a David who with all his heart called upon his God. On the mountain we see Elias; in the dungeon Paul and Silas. We have multitudes of commands, and myriads of promises. What does this teach us, but the sacred importance and necessity of prayer?

We may be certain that whatever God has made prominent in His Word, He intended to be conspicuous in our lives. If He has said much about prayer, it is because He knows we have much need of it. So deep are our necessities, that until we are in heaven we must not cease to pray. Dost thou want nothing? Then, I fear thou dost not know thy poverty. Hast thou no mercy to ask of God? Then, may the Lord's mercy show thee thy misery! A prayerless soul is a Christless soul. Prayer is the lisping of the believing infant, the shout of the fighting believer, the requiem of the dying saint falling asleep in Jesus. It is the breath, the watchword, the comfort, the strength, the honour of a Christian. If thou be a child of God, thou wilt seek thy Father's face, and live in thy Father's love. Pray that this year thou mayst be holy, humble, zealous, and patient; have closer communion with Christ, and enter oftener into the banqueting-house of His love.

1. Even as Yom Kippur passed without Arabs attacking Israel (NEWS2081), war signs continue to build in the region. Egypt will probably be a key figure in this coming war against Israel, so it is most interesting to see her role grow in and around Israel.

NEWS BRIEF: "Gaza reverting to Egyptian control", By Ryan Jones, Jerusalem NewsWire, October 11th, 2005

"While Israel's withdrawal from Gaza was hailed as a 'Palestinian' victory, it appears Egypt is taking home spoils from the current terrorist war. Egypt lost control of the Gaza Strip to Israel during its wars against the Jewish state in 1948 and 1956, though Israel promptly left the territory in hopes of peace. When Gaza fell to Israeli forces following yet more Egyptian belligerency in 1967, Jerusalem decided to hold on to the volatile coastal strip. Cairo failed in the 1973 Yom Kippur War to retake the former launch-pad for aggression against the Jews."

"But what it could not gain through strength of arms, Egypt seems to have obtained by virtue of its dominance over the Palestinian Authority and its terrorist proxies. The Egyptians are now involved 'in every facet of the [PA] in Gaza', a PA source told Middle East Newsline. “It is correct to say that major decisions are not taken without Egypt's approval'.”

During the past year, as the Sharon government was meticulously laying the groundwork for her Unilateral Withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, I found it amazing that the Prime Minister would even contemplate dealing with the Egyptians as a "honest broker" between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. That scenario is just like asking the fox to guard your chicken coop!

After all, Egypt has taken the lead in every attack on Israel since 1948. Even today, Egypt is committed to Israel's destruction, as her war gaming perfectly illustrates; did you know that every annual Egyptian war games simulates an invasion of Israel? President Mubarak of Egypt is pro-Western in name only; in his inner heart of hearts, he fervently desires the destruction of Israel.

And, old war horse, General Sharon, knows this fact right well. Yet, he continued to "negotiate" with the Egyptians about playing the role of controlling the Palestinians long enough for Israel to clear out of the Gaza. Incredibly, Sharon granted Egyptian forces the right to control the Rafah border crossing on the Gaza - Sinai border; surely enough, starting the very first day that Egypt had control of that border crossing, unknown tons of advanced war materiel and probably soldiers in civilian dress began to pour through -- completely unchecked by Egyptian border guards. Today, the Gaza Strip is literally "bursting" with stocks of advanced war supplies -- from anti-tank weapons, anti-aircraft missiles, artillery shells, mortar rounds, advanced short-range missiles and close to a half-million rounds of gun ammunition of various calibers.

In other words, Egypt has quickly turned The Gaza Strip into a "forward deployment base", just a few miles away from the choicest of Israeli targets. Building a "forward deployment base" is a very strong sign of impending attack.

And, just as Sharon expected, Egypt is taking such control over The Gaza Strip that no major decision -- even by PA Chairman Abbas -- is made without Egypt's explicit approval. This fact is verified by the next article.

NEWS BRIEF: "Egypt taking charge of Palestinian Authority", World Tribune.com, October 13, 2005

"GAZA CITY — Egypt is taking effective control of the Palestinian Authority, according to PA officials. The sources said that over the last few months leading up to the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, Egypt has dominated several key areas of Palestinian government, particularly those affected by the pullout. They said Egypt approves PA decisions regarding the deployment and training of Palestinian security forces, security operations and policy, development projects and senior appointments ... PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, the sources said, consults with Egypt on virtually every issue.

"They said Egypt now controls both sides of the 14-kilometer border with the Gaza Strip. Egypt has been given control of both the PA airport and sea port, the sources said. They said Egyptian personnel would supervise and operate the PA airport at Dahaniya in the southern Gaza Strip as well as the sea port south of Gaza City ... Cairo has also sent government personnel to man critical facilities in the Gaza Strip. Egyptian officers have been directing PA security operations."

DEBKAfile Intelligence is also reporting that Egyptian helicopter surveillance along the Gaza - Sinai border is also spying on Israeli troop and air force movements inside tiny Israel in a way they could not do from within Egypt.

These are preparations for an Egyptian attack on Israel. DEBKAfile is also reporting that "Al-Qaeda" has established a very strong presence in the Sinai, and that Egyptian efforts to dislodge them have so far proven ineffective. Therefore, are we going to see reports one day that Egypt is having to move massive numbers of troops into the upper Sinai in order to "deal with" these terrorist bases? If that does occur, such Egyptian forces would be able to move up to within miles of the Gaza Strip.

And, remember reports of last week that Syria is moving armed forces close to her border with Israel, while Hizbullah is armed and dangerous already, having been continuously supplied with advanced weaponry for the pas three years by Syria and Iran. This DEBKAfile article concerning the Russian sale of very deadly theater missiles is ominous.

NEWS BRIEF: "Moscow Arms Assad with a Top-Flight Surface Missile", DEBKAfile Intelligence, October 10, 2005

"The Syrian general came out of his meeting (with the Russian Chief of Staff) with a brilliant contract for the sale of the advanced Iskander SS-26 surface missile ... The value of the transaction is unknown but it certainly runs into hundreds of million dollars, given that Syria has purchased 26 of the most advanced missile of its kind in use anywhere in the world. The United States and NATO have code-named the Iskander SS-26 'Stone'. They have nothing in their missile arsenal to match its unique attributes ... (This missile is ) too fast and flexible for known electronic defenses to stop ... With a 400-km range and a 480-kilo warhead composed of 54 elements, the missile hits a target within a 20-meter radius ... It is almost impossible for existing electronic weapons systems to prevent the Iskander’s launch because of its speed and high flexibility. Its targets are found in mid-flight by satellites, accompanying airplanes, conventional intelligence centers or a lone soldier directing artillery fire. Targets may also be found by feeding photos into the missile’s computer by means of a scanner. The self-direction device functions even in fog, darkness or storms."

This DEBKAfile article continues to state that Syria purchased only 26 of these missiles and that they paid cash so they could take delivery in the first quarter of 2006. These two details smack of disinformation for several reasons:

A) 26 missiles are a very small quantity when you are talking about an all-out war. Such an inventory would be rapidly depleted. If Russia and Syria are committed to this battle weapon, it would be foolish in the highest degree to commit the hardware to launch these missiles, including the trucks, the computers, and the satellites if you were going to only have a measly 26 missiles on hand.

B) Russia is said to be preparing delivery in the First, Quarter, 2006. However, in US Army Intelligence, I learned a very valuable lesson: whenever a government admits to new weaponry some time in the future, the reality is that they have already had the weapon for some time. In some instances, a new military capability has been secretly in our arsenal for 10 years before our government even admitted the weapon existed!

Therefore, I believe the Russians have probably already delivered this new missile and in much larger quantity than the 26 reported.

These are all war signs. Strong military build-up in preparation for an assault against Israel.

2. However, public war rhetoric from Iran and Syria is also a very strong war signal. Military analysts are trained to be on the watch for public war rhetoric to start occurring at the same time war preparations are being made. This combination is usually deadly.

Even North Korea got in on the act of threatening America!

NEWS BRIEF: "Iran’s military threatens to hit U.S. with suicide raids", Iran Focus, 11 October 2005

"Tehran, Iran, Oct. 11 – A top general of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps issued on Tuesday a direct threat to the United States and its allies, warning that the Islamic Republic had identified 'all the weak points of our enemies' and has suicide operation volunteers 'ready to strike at these sensitive locations' in retaliation to any attack. 'We know all of the enemies’ weak points and what to do against them. Today, we have ready martyrdom-seeking individuals who are ready to strike at these sensitive points', Brigadier General Mohammad Kossar ... Kossari said that Iran’s 'enemies' were bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan and were looking for a way to escape."

This is not the first time Iran has directly threatened the United States. But, her language this time is much bolder and antagonistic than ever before. Further, these harsh public words take on greater significance for two major reasons:

1) Iran has already gone into a war preparation mode of operation, as we reported last week. (Read our Newsletter of October 8, 2005, Paragraph 2).

2) At the time of the US invasion of Iraq, the hardline government of Iran sent its diplomats flying all over the Middle Eastern national capitols, carrying a major strategy by which Iran was going to defeat the Great American Satan in the Middle East. We reported this strategy at the time, in NEWS1910. According to this plan, Iran planned to first bog America down in Iraq, then in Afghanistan, and then in the former Russian republics like Azerbaijan, and finally, setting of a fire in Israel.

This tactic has certainly succeeded in Iraq and Afghanistan. In these two countries, American military and diplomatic strategy is a known failure, with insurgents in both countries gaining momentum. One news article last week stated that the insurgency now controls portions of Baghdad, including one section very close to Coalition Headquarters, the Green Zone.

Has the time now arrived for Iran to finally "light the fire" within Israel?

Now, let us examine Syria's suddenly belligerent tone of war.

NEWS BRIEF: "Syria warns 'gates of hell will open' if U.S. attacks", The Daily Star, By Leila Hatoum, Wednesday, October 12, 2005

"BEIRUT: In the latest official Syrian comment on the increasing pressure on Damascus, Premier Naji Otari said "all the gates of hell will open on the U.S. if it attempts to attack Syria." Otari was replying to a report this week in Newsweek magazine revealing that Washington had debated launching military strikes inside Syria against camps used by insurgents operating in Iraq."

Cutting Edge readers will remember that Saddam Hussein warned America that, if she attacked his country, the "gates of hell" would open wide. At the time, media pundits and American leaders laughed Saddam to scorn when he uttered this phrase; however, how many of them are laughing now? The insurgency has plunged American Iraqi policy into the deep abyss, with many Americans -- including increasingly large numbers of soldiers -- becoming more and more despondent and discouraged.

Literally, the gates of hell have opened wide in Iraq, and if Russian military advisers are going to be operating sophisticated military equipment in Iran and Syria, our forces could be savaged. Remember, the Russians have the far more sophisticated Scalar Weaponry, and are in advanced stages of this technology. Listen to the warning from Col. Byron Weeks (Ret), as he warned that America had better not overstep her boundaries and actually engage the Russians in combat:

"America will burn". Many people will have trouble believing this statement, because we have always believed the propaganda that American superiority in military weaponry will always remain unsurpassed. Since Iran has moved 250,000 of her best troops to the border of Iraq, do we have reason to fear an attack on our forces in Iraq? Only time will tell.

North Korea found the time last week to utter strong war propaganda against the United States.

NEWS BRIEF: "North Korea vows to crush Americans if they attack", Gulf News.com, 11 October 2005

" Pyongyang : North Korean leader Kim Jong Il reviewed a massive military parade in central Pyongyang yesterday as the communist state marked the 60th anniversary of its ruling party with vows to “mercilessly crush American imperialists if they attack ... 'If US and Japanese imperialists and their followers ultimately ignite the fire of war on this soil, we will mercilessly crush the aggressors and achieve the historic accomplishment of reunification of the fatherland' ..."

You might understandably dismiss this war rhetoric, because we have heard it so often before. However, given the military buildup by Russia, Iran, and Syria in the Middle East and the concrete signs of war from that region, we cannot so lightly dismiss this rhetoric. Remember, the Illuminati Plan specifically mentions the role North Korea is to play in the coming World War III:

As always, we must point out the wording, above, " towards the end of the period". To which "period" are they referring here? The period of time which will allow Antichrist on the world scene -- the planned World War III. The very fact we are seeing nuclear threats coming from North Korea at the same time as we are seeing military buildups in the Middle East and against Israel, adds more credence to the reality that the beginning of this global war may not be too far away.

3. As Cutting Edge has stated for almost two years now, events seem to be heading toward the point where President Bush will be thoroughly discredited.

NEWS BRIEF: "Republican Congressman Slams Bush On Gun Confiscation", Infowars.com, October 12, 2005

"Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) has accused the Bush administration of attempting to set in motion a militarized police state in America by enacting gun confiscation martial law provisions in the event of an avian flu pandemic. Paul also slammed as delusional and dangerous plans to invade Iran, Syria, North Korea and China ... Paul appeared on the Alex Jones show yesterday and raised some interesting points about the possibility of imminent indictments of top Bush administration figures. 'I think there's a lot more excitement coming and it's not going to be good for the Republicans', stated Paul. 'The things that I hear have to do with Karl Rove and Abramoff and that's much much worse than anybody would believe and it involves DeLay as well."

" 'And that type of an indictment will be much more serious than the indictment of shifting campaign funds around' .... .Paul expressed his hope that finally some conservatives are waking up to the fact that the Bush administration is a trojan horse..."

For months now, Cutting Edge has heard rumors and read stories on alternative websites touting the coming indictment of President Bush and some of his advisers on criminal charges. Supposedly, a Federal prosecutor is preparing an indictment on 22 charges of criminal behavior on various officials. However, we have never reported it because we could not verify the story with any credible organization. Now that Representative Ron Paul (R-TX) has verified this coming indictment, the story must be true.

If and when such an indictment is handed down, the development will simply be unprecedented! Never before in American history has a sitting President been indicted by a Federal prosecutor. During the time of the Nixon Watergate debacle, stories repeatedly abounded as to whether President Nixon might choose to stage a military coup in order to stay in power; other stories were constantly posted asking whether Nixon might trigger an international crisis in order to stay in power. As you can see, Cutting Edge has been warning for some time now that a determined effort seemed to be underway to discredit President Bush and bring him down. We shall have to wait to see if Representative Ron Paul (R-TX) is correct in stating that a criminal indictment of the President is very close.

4. In a slap to the face of the President, the Senate voted to outlaw torture as an official instrument of policy. No other President in history has had to be told to stop torturing prisoners, but this "christian" President has been guilty of this behavior ever since 9/11, and his current Attorney General, Gonzales, is the lawyer who invented the legal loophole argument which has allowed this Administration to act like an Adolf Hitler or a Josef Stalin.

The proposal would require all service members to follow written, uniform rules when they detain and question terrorism suspects."

" The White House has fought hard to prevent the restrictions, which were sponsored by Republican Senator John McCain. A White House spokesman repeated Mr Bush's threat to veto the $440bn (about £250bn) military spending bill to which the amendment has been attached. The White House said the measure would 'restrict the president's authority to protect Americans effectively from terrorist attack and bring terrorists to justice'."

Senator John McCain should be very sensitive to the issue of torturing prisoners, since he was daily tortured by his North Vietnamese captors during the years he was a Prisoner of War. This issue of torturing prisoners has been in the limelight for a very long time, as Cutting Edge began to post torture articles in November, 2001, just weeks after the attacks of 9/11. Mass Media pundits during this time frame rose up to defend torture as being "necessary" to fight terrorism, even though no shred of evidence was ever offered to support such ridiculous claims.

During the confirmation hearings of Alberto Gonzales to be Attorney General, charges swirled around the White House, alleging that Gonzales was the lawyer who devised the slick loophole through the many international treaties forbidding torture because the prisoners were not P.O.W.'s, but enemy combatants captured in the "war on terror".

Every discerning, informed person on earth has known for a very long time that President Bush's Administration was torturing people. Therefore, why is this story just now beginning to make headlines? The answer seems to be clear: now is the time to bring about the final discreditation of President Bush.

Before we move on to our next news story, this "valiant" effort to forbid the President from torturing people is as worthless as Confederate money, because it only forbids American soldiers from torturing people; it allows the CIA to continue torture!

John McCain (R-Ariz.) proposed an amendment to the defense appropriations bill that would prohibit 'cruel, inhuman or degrading" treatment of prisoners in the custody of the U.S. military ... The United States has been signing anti-torture treaties under Democrats and Republicans for at least 50 years. But the Bush administration actually managed to find some weasel words to create a loophole in this longstanding commitment to civilized behavior. According to the Bushies, if the United States is holding a prisoner on foreign soil, our soldiers can still subject him or her to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment-the very forms of torture used by the soldiers who were later prosecuted for their conduct at Abu Ghraib.So deeply does President Bush feel our country, despite all its treaty commitments, has a right to torture that he has threatened to veto the bill if it passes. Molly Ivins succinctly sums up this whole sorry story. Since torture has been an open story for so many years now under the Bush Administration, where is the moral outcry from the Evangelical Christian leadership? Nowhere in the Bible -- and certainly nowhere in the New Testament, do we find any indication that the Lord Jesus sanctioned torture from a government facility. Yet, too many pastors get up in their pulpits, defending President Bush as a Christian president and defending his wars of aggression as "Just Wars"!

I tell you again, on the Day of Reward -- or the White Throne Judgment -- untold numbers of Evangelical pastors are going to discover, to their horror, that they are going to pay a steep price for their nonsensical defense of this President. While the Bible never sanctions torture, it does have warnings against spiritual leaders who condone and/or support such criminal behavior.

How many of these Biblically-illiterate pastors who defend President Bush and his policies are even aware of this verse? Such pastors had better wake up in a hurry, for the time is speeding by for repentance, as the world whirls toward its prophetic day of appointment for End of the Age judgment.

5. Some Americans are beginning to awaken from their political stupor, as a new poll reveals that 50% of this citizenry is now supportive of impeachment proceedings should it be proven that President Bush deliberately lied about why he had to invade Iraq.

"By a margin of 50% to 44%, Americans want Congress to consider impeaching President Bush if he lied about the war in Iraq, according to a new poll commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org, a grassroots coalition that supports a Congressional investigation of President Bush's decision to invade Iraq in 2003. he poll was conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs, the highly-regarded non-partisan polling company. The poll interviewed 1,001 U.S. adults on October 6-9."

"The poll found that 50% agreed with the statement: 'If President Bush did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq, Congress should consider holding him accountable by impeaching him'. 44% disagreed, and 6% said they didn't know or declined to answer. The poll has a +/- 3.1% margin of error."

" 'The results of this poll are truly astonishing', said AfterDowningStreet.org co-founder Bob Fertik. 'Bush's record-low approval ratings tell just half of the story, which is how much Americans oppose Bush's policies on Iraq and other issues. But this poll tells the other half of the story - that a solid plurality of Americans want Congress to consider removing Bush from the White House'."

This article continued by revealing that support for impeachment cuts across some surprising political lines.

"Responses varied by political party affiliation: 72% of Democrats favored impeachment, compared to 56% of Independents and 20% of Republicans. Responses also varied by age and income. Solid majorities of those under age 55 (54%), as well as those with household incomes below $50,000 (57%), support impeachment. Majorities favored impeachment in the Northeast (53%), West (51%), and even the South (50%)." (Ibid.)

This swell supporting impeachment has been a fairly recent phenomenon.

"The Ipsos poll shows a dramatic transformation in support for Bush's impeachment since late June ... The Zogby poll conducted June 27-29 of 905 likely voters found that 42% agreed and 50% disagreed with a statement virtually identical to the one used by Ipsos Public Affairs. After the June poll, pollster John Zogby told the Washington Post that support for impeachment "was much higher than I expected." At the time, impeachment supporters trailed opponents by 8%. Now supporters outnumber opponents by 6%, a remarkable shift of 14%." (Ibid.)

Now, let us return to this impeachment poll to discover something very interesting, and more than a little shocking.

"Support for Clinton Impeachment Was Much Lower -- In August and September of 1998, 16 major polls asked about impeaching President Clinton (http://democrats.com/clinton-impeachment-polls). Only 36% supported hearings to consider impeachment, and only 26% supported actual impeachment and removal. Even so, the impeachment debate dominated the news for months, and the Republican Congress impeached Clinton despite overwhelming public opposition."

We shall have to wait to see how this whole impeachment talk works out; under normal circumstances, this Republican Congress should have no difficulty turning back any impeachment moves. If an impeachment process does start working its way through Congress, you may certainly know that the Illuminati is behind this process. No sitting President should ever have to face impeachment if his party is in control of Congress; history tells us that much.

6. New revelations that Harriet Miers may be a "closet Liberal" have Conservatives in an uproar as the Congressional approval process continues to lurch forward.

But Bush's Supreme Court nominee did not include in that category the NAACP and other liberal groups, the transcript reveals!

" The DRUDGE REPORT can now reveal that not only did Harriet Miers testify that she would not join the “politically charged” Federalist Society -- she testified that she had joined a liberal organization – the Democratic Progressive Voters League." (Testimony, Sept, 1989)

Can you imagine that Harriet Miers actually joined the ultra-liberal "Democratic Progressive Voters League"? Remember, by her own testimony, she was Born Again in 1979, the time when she dramatically turned her heart and her values to the Bible. This religious conversion theme tells us that she was a Bush-type conservative ever since then.

But, here, we see that 10 years later, she described herself as a Liberal and had joined the Democratic Progressive Voters League! Once again, the truth of a matter lies in the exactly opposite direction of the public rhetoric (NEWS1558). Once again, we see President Bush trying to lie to the American people -- telling them he had appointed a Born Again Christian Conservative to be Supreme Court Justice, when the reality seems to be in the opposite direction.

But, another shocking revelation pops up in the Alex Jones interview with Representative Ron Paul (R-TX), so let us go back to this interview.

"Paul expressed his hope that finally some conservatives are waking up to the fact that the Bush administration is a trojan horse, especially after arch-liberal Harriet Miers was chosen by Bush to supposedly move the Supreme Court to the right, even though her record is atrocious.."

Can you imagine Republican Representative Ron Paul actually stating that the appointment of Harriet Miers to be Justice of the Supreme Court is a "Trojan Horse"? The original Trojan Horse tactic was very deliberately planned and thought through, as those Greek generals who surreptitiously hid the elite Greek troops within that horse until the wooden horse gained entrance into Troy planned the tactic from beginning to end. Likewise, Ron Paul seems to be saying that President Bush deliberately thought of this tactic through thoroughly, and just as the end result originally was the destruction of the city of Troy, so the President's goal just might be the destruction of the dream of the Conservative and/or Christian Right to judicially end Abortion on Demand.

NEWS BRIEF: "Window Into Miers' Legal Thinking in the 1990s Reflects a Glint of Liberalism", By Scott Gold and Richard A. Serrano, Times Staff Writers, L.A. Times, October 14, 2005

"The written record of President Bush's nominee for the Supreme Court is meager. But her musings in the Texas Bar Journal in 1992 and 1993 offer a window into a different era for Miers. At the time, she was perched atop a fractious organization of 55,000 lawyers that included law-and-order prosecutors, boardroom advisors and legal clinicians paid in chickens on the border. The crosscurrents were fierce, and Miers fought them by choosing a path that could safely be described as politically moderate and, at times, liberal — by Texas standards anyway ... her emerging record as a lawyer in Texas could foment concern among conservatives that she would not be a reliable ally.

"Since Bush announced Miers' nomination, some conservatives have voiced concerns about the 'Souter factor' — a reference to Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter, who was nominated to the court by Bush's father but has regularly sided with the court's liberal wing. They have cited her contention while running for the Dallas City Council that gays deserved the same civil rights as anyone else and her financial contributions to former Vice President Al Gore and the Democratic National Committee ... Miers used the pulpit of the Texas bar largely to remind the state's lawyers of their responsibility to assist the underprivileged and to promote 'diversity'."

Perhaps Conservative and/or Christian leaders should wake up to realize that this President is lying to them. And, Focus On The Family's Dr. James Dobson is clearly making a fool of himself for warmly endorsing Miers simply on the basis of a phone call from Karl Rove -- a proven liar and target of the CIA investigation into the illegal "outing" of an undercover CIA agent, Valerie Plame.

Once again, Dr. Dobson is showing himself as simply the Christian front man for President Bush. Remember his lying whitewash of the incredibly lewd performance of Laura Bush during the White House Correspondence Ball of April 30, 2005 (Read full details in NEWS2036). Using his patented smooth Christian words, Dr. Dobson and Shirley whitewashed the entire lewd performance and the President's uproarious reaction to Laura's remarks, leading any Focus listener to conclude that the Correspondent's Ball was as innocent as a church revival meeting!

No genuine Christian will ever find "common cause" with the supreme leader of a pagan religion so thinly disguised as Christianity! 8. Using the term, "Smart Growth" to refer to the "rebuilding" of New Orleans and other devastated communities, Federal officials have told discerning, informed Americans that any rebuilding of these devastated areas is going to follow "Re-wilding" guidelines.

NEWS BRIEF: "Smart-growth experts focus on Gulf Coast", Montgomery Advertiser, October 14, 2005

"Geraldine Cushenberry saw the destruction of Hurricane Katrina firsthand ... Cushenberry believes the rebuilding process must be taken seriously to prevent this kind of catastrophe in the future. However, she has no plans to return."

This thought pattern is typically "Re-wilding", for it means that severe restrictions must be applied to any rebuilding process in order "to prevent this kind of catastrophe in the future". The bottom line in this line of reasoning is that the major decision which must be made is whether to rebuild is whether the original location must be changed! As the UN "Re-wilding Map" clearly indicates, over 50% of the United States of America is planned to be set aside, either forbidding any human activity (Red Area) or severely regulating human activity (Yellow Area).

And, one of the code words masking this draconian plan is "Smart Growth". Let us now return to this featured story.

"After a smart-growth breakfast Tuesday morning at Faulkner University, a man regarded by his peers as one of the top city planners in America spoke about rebuilding the devastated region. 'Obviously the difficulty with New Orleans is that fundamentally it is built in the wrong place', said Rick Bernhardt, executive director of Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County Planning Department ... ' we have some opportunities to rebuild these communities in a way that will be a little more sustainable -- hopefully build them in some locations that are not as susceptible to damage from the coast .... Here's a city which is below sea level, near a storm area and had several other inherent problems ... With the storm being as bad as it was, it didn't just wipe out buildings, it wiped out infrastructure," Emerson said. "So this poses a unique challenge and opportunity to not just rebuild a few buildings here and there, but to actually re-plan entire cities, entire blocks, entire regions that have been devastated'." (Ibid.)

There you have it! "Re-wilding" IS the order of the day, and "Smart Growth" is the oblique term which hides its most offensive aspects! Listen now to the bottom line plan, a plan which will prevent most of New Orleans being rebuilt in her original location.

"I don't think there is anything that can be done to prevent this from happening again," Bernhardt said. "The location is very vulnerable, and hopefully over time we can find ways to build a more naturally protected location."

This is the essence of "Re-wilding" -- to force people to build where the government wants them to rebuild, i.e., in a "more naturally protected location."

If "Re-wilding" is clearly going to occur, then we should expect that ordinary citizens should now be experiencing great difficulty getting cooperation from officials of the Federal Government. A Cutting Edge subscriber emailed us yesterday, telling us that she had heard a report on her local station that told of exactly this type of stonewalling by Federal officials.

"I thought you would be interested to know that I heard Councilman Craig Tafaro of St. Bernard Parish on the radio today. He reported that St. Bernard Parish is receiving almost no federal funds and that no one in the federal government is giving the parish any answers to any of their questions. As an example, he cited the parish's inquiries to the alphabet agencies regarding wetlands/parish boundary lines and received no useful information. Additionally, he cited the question of elevation standards for new construction. The dilemma is that people of the parish cannot return and start rebuilding if they don't know what the building standards are going to be. The parish does not want to risk inviting its residents to rebuild only to be told later that the new construction does not meet code requirements. Although these new homes could possibly be grandfathered in, the increased insurance costs for non-code homes would be cost prohibitive.

"In this afternoon's telecon with radio broadcaster Spud McConnell (wwl.com), Tafaro revealed that the feds are withholding recovery funding, and no one knows why. The only commitment St. Bernard Parish can get from them is to 'review the situation every three months'. After the interview concluded, Spud McConnell and his cohost, Angela, wondered aloud about this dismal news, and there was some veiled talk of conspiracy. Although McConnell qualified his statement by saying that he could not bring himself to believe that that is what's going on, he said that what Tafaro was saying was sounding like a conspiracy because there was no other explanation for the feds' unwillingness to rebuild the parish."

Now, the truth is getting out, is it not? Federal officials are stonewalling the local citizen's efforts to get rebuilding permits and funds. And, this stalling tactic is being expressed in such a way as to stretch out the stalling period to infinity. The situation is to be "reviewed every three months". And, when those three months are finished, Federal officials will just announce another "three month review period".

Many news stories have been posted, giving the impression that a lot of people are coming back to New Orleans to resume their way of life. However, this next story tells a different tale.

NEWS BRIEF: "Ruin greets residents of poor New Orleans area", Reuters News, October 12, 2005

"EW ORLEANS, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Residents of New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward, a poor, mainly black neighborhood submerged for weeks after Hurricane Katrina, returned home for the first time on Wednesday but found little to salvage. Cars, ambulances and relief vans, some from as far away as Texas and Arkansas, streamed into the area under the watchful eye of National Guard troops operating roadblocks. Residents donned masks and rubber boots to trudge down streets covered with mud and debris ... Others found only ruin in what remained of their homes."

" 'There ain't nothing in there you can take', said Ernest King, 28, pointing at his mother's bright blue house. King had hitched a trailer to his minivan in the hope of bringing some belongings back, but left empty-handed. Deborah Hall met similar disappointment when she peered into the single-story white house where she was raised only to find that the living room furniture and decorations had become an unrecognizable heap of water- and mud-soaked debris.

"Vice Admiral Thad Allen, who is in charge of the federal recovery effort in New Orleans, told reporters in Baton Rouge that residents of the Ninth Ward might not be able to return home for two or three years ... Some parts of the neighborhood deemed unsafe remained off-limits. At one roadblock Spc. Kurt Freudenberg of the Washington State National Guard said 20 people had tried to pass within the previous hour. Although the waters have receded, the foundations of some houses have moved, making them structurally unsound and uninhabitable. Many are likely to be bulldozed."

This type of damage and ruin is exactly what the three builders told me when I asked their opinion during the first week following the levee break in New Orleans. They predicted that entire neighborhoods would have to be totally torn down and rebuilt. Further, now that we know the Federal Government is being guided by "Smart Growth" experts telling people where they can rebuild, we now know that much of New Orleans will likely never be rebuilt. The most likely scenario is that the debris will be cleared and hauled off, and then the President will declare much of the original city to be a Federally-protected land preserve.

At this point, the Reuters News article tells us something very few people realize. These people "returning" could not stay.

"Those who returned had little time to survey their property. Under an arrangement with the city, they were required to leave by 6 p.m." (Ibid.)

New Orleans is a city emptied of much of its original human inhabitants, and FEMA now controls it. "Re-wilding" can commence.

Israel's weary wanderings were all over, and the promised rest was attained. No more moving tents, fiery serpents, fierce Amalekites, and howling wildernesses: they came to the land which flowed with milk and honey, and they ate the old corn of the land. Perhaps this year, beloved Christian reader, this may be thy case or mine. Joyful is the prospect, and if faith be in active exercise, it will yield unalloyed delight. To be with Jesus in the rest which remaineth for the people of God, is a cheering hope indeed, and to expect this glory so soon is a double bliss. Unbelief shudders at the Jordan which still rolls between us and the goodly land, but let us rest assured that we have already experienced more ills than death at its worst can cause us.

Let us banish every fearful thought, and rejoice with exceeding great joy, in the prospect that this year we shall begin to be "for ever with the Lord." A part of the host will this year tarry on earth, to do service for their Lord. If this should fall to our lot, there is no reason why the New Year's text should not still be true.

"We who have believed do enter into rest." The Holy Spirit is the earnest of our inheritance; He gives us "glory begun below." In heaven they are secure, and so are we preserve in Christ Jesus; there they triumph over their enemies, and we have victories too. Celestial spirits enjoy communion with their Lord, and this is not denied to us; they rest in His love, and we have perfect peace in Him: they hymn His praise, and it is our privilege to bless Him too. We will this year gather celestial fruits on earthly ground, where faith and hope have made the desert like the garden of the Lord. Man did eat angels' food of old, and why not now?
