struggles to understand mass suicide: blurring the line between
life, death", by Mary Otto and Angie Cannon, Knight-Ridder

"For them, death was not tragic. For people who called themselves monks and lived in a virtual cloister, tied to each other and to astrological portents, death was apparently not an end as much as a transition. 'I'm sure they were convinced of their immortality', said Dr. James Breckenridge, professor of religion at Baylor University, in Waco, Texas. 'We need to know more', Breckenridge and other experts said about the apparent suicides of 39 people in a mansion on a hilltop in Rancho Sante Fe, Calif[sic]. But, he said, death might well have been seen as 'anything but a tragedy for these people.'
"The dead were web-site designers and members of a group called Heaven's Gate. In videotaped farewells, the 21 women and 18 men appeared to be happily anticipating the shedding of 'their containers' and moving on to a higher stage of life ... They believed they were going to be taken away ... by a UFO ... They believed the UFO was traveling behind the comet Hale-Bopp ...."
"For most religions with a concept of heaven,
death is not completely frightening. Heaven is going to be a
better place, so why avoid going there? Particularly if you are
going with friends."
This story, which is still unfolding, is of such magnitude, and importance, and depth, that we will be required to spend much time studying it and reporting it. However, we want to focus in on several critical aspects in this first article:
1) Satan's activity in these last days of time
2) The religious nature of the group
3) The many parallels with the beliefs of Heaven's Gate and Christianity
4) How these parallels might be used by New World Order planners
5) How this type of mass suicide might be conditioning
for the Rapture of the Church
Let us begin with Satan, since he is the Lord of this World, the Prince of the Power of the Air. In NEWS1061, we discuss the Biblical teaching on Satan's control over this world during the time preceding Jesus' Second Coming to establish His Millennial Kingdom. Let us review this teaching again.
Let us examine the Biblical doctrine which teaches us that Satan
is manipulating events on his planet, Earth.
Job 1:6-7, " Now there was
a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the
LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan,
Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From
going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in
it."
Read carefully what Satan told God he was doing just before being "presenting himself" before God. Satan told God he was "going to and fro in the earth, and walking up and down in it"! We all think of this Earth as a pretty big planet, and we certainly have some degree of difficulty in getting around in it. But, Satan looks upon the Earth as a very small planet, one that he gets around easily and with a cavalier attitude. Satan must view the Earth as we would view our garden plot. When the owner of a small garden plot wants to survey his handiwork, he "goes to and fro" in it, and walks "up and down in it". The owner is in complete control of his tiny garden plot. This is the picture of Satan controlling this Earth.
Do not be deceived at this point: Satan is the Lord of this world. Jesus said of Satan, "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out." [John 12:31] Jesus called Satan the "prince of this world". Then, in Ephesians 2:2, Paul says, "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience ..." Paul called Satan the "prince of the power of the air". Thus, Satan is pictured here as controlling the Earth and the air around the Earth. Therefore, it is highly significant that Jesus Christ will return to the air of the Earth to call His believers home in the Rapture, because He will be invading Satan's territory!! Is this what Jesus had in mind when He said, "Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house." {Matthew 12:29] Certainly, Jesus will bind Satan at the time of the Rapture and "spoil his house"!
Finally, we see Satan's control of the world in Matthew 4:8-9, where he tempted Jesus Christ three times to sin. One of these temptations shows Satan's knowledge that he controls this world, and Jesus' tacit acceptance of this fact. "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." [Parallel passage in Luke 4:5]
Satan controls this Earth, during this time period, and most of the people in it. Most people are not active Satan worshippers, but they either worship false religions which Satan has created to draw men away from God's Truth, or they subscribe to Satan's values of lust, greed, hatred, love of self, and love of material things. A smaller minority are caught up in cults like this, who are thoroughly under the silent, invisible hand of Satan, the Master Marionette.
Finally, Satan controls both the
leaders of this world [Revelation 16:13-14] and the events of
this world [although both types of "control" are, in
turn, controlled by God's prophecies [Revelation 17:17].
Satan can do anything he wants to
do on this Earth, unless God specifically intervenes to stop him!
Do not ever forget this doctrinal Biblical fact.
Satan is acting as the master marionette, pulling the necessary strings on the necessary people on Earth to achieve the Kingdom of Antichrist. In this cult, Satan was clearly pulling the strings of control over the individual members. These poor deluded people were spoon-fed a deadly mixture of Bible verses, and twisted meaning to these verses, plus a huge amount of New Age and ancient Gnostic beliefs. Remember, these people were not stupid, nor were they illiterate; on the contrary, they were highly intelligent, computer experts. Yet, Satan was able to blind their eyes and lead them straight into Hell.
The first oddity about this story was that 39 people died. Since I know that Satan is pulling the strings on this occult event, I was immediately impressed with the fact that the number of victims was one of his most powerful numbers. Just as God is very consistent with His use of numbers throughout Scripture, so Satan places great emphasis on their use. However, unlike God, Who has power within His Person, Satan teaches his subjects that Numbers themselves retain great power. It is simply the age-old principle of worshipping the creature rather than the Creator [Romans 1:25]. To a Satanist, the number 39 is a most powerful number, inherently containing much power, because it is the multiplication of 13 (the number of Satanic rebellion against God) times 3 (the number of the Pagan Trinity). Therefore, the number of people who died, 39, represents an occult signature on this event.
The second thing for which I immediately began to look was how closely and how quickly this group would be tied into the beliefs of Fundamental, Bible-believing Christians. As we have reported on many occasions, New World Order planners are in the process of convincing the average American that we Fundamentalist Christians are a clear and present danger to society, a danger so great that the Government may have to intervene to remove us from society, with force if necessary. Thus it was, that we were concerned when David Koresch of the Branch Davidians, in Waco, Texas, was painted as a Christian religious zealot who literally believed in the Book of Revelation; and, the hairs on the back of my head stood straight up when a TV reporter mused that "perhaps we should take a hard look at anyone who literally believes in the Book of Revelation"!
We have already heard some of this rhetoric, and we consider it to be just the proverbial 'tip of the iceberg'. Ronald Noble, the former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for enforcement, is quoted in the March 5th edition of USA Today that people who express "anti-government philosophy [are] capable of carrying out very, very dangerous sorts of crimes. USA Today accompanied this article with a map depicting the locations of patriot groups who "identify themselves as anti-government or as opposed to the 'New World Order'." Did you get that last phrase? The Federal Government considers anyone or any organization who is concerned with the New World Order as being very, very dangerous to society! This type of propaganda leads directly to persecution and removal from society, at a time deemed "safe" by the government. One day soon, the government will move against all Christian organizations, like The Cutting Edge, who are screaming the truth about the New World Order. Pray for us.
The fact is, Heaven's Gate doctrine ties in closely enough with Christianity that propagandists can create the lie that we Fundamentalist Christians are of the same type religiously, and are therefore, the same type of threat to society. Remember Adolf Hitler's maxim, "Truth is not what is; truth is what people believe it to be". Propagandists have always held this maxim near and dear to their art.
Let us examine some of the parallels with Christian teaching that we found on the Heaven's Gate World Wide Web pages.
1) Teaching that "a thousand years is as a day, and a day as a thousand years" (Prophetic timing as taught in Psalms 90:4 and 1 Peter 3:8). Here is the text of their teaching, taken from the Heaven's Gate Web Page, specifically from the link, "Statement By An E.T. Presently Incarnate", Paragraph 7. "The Level Above Human - or Next Level directly (hands on) relates significantly to the civilization at its beginning stage, and subsequently (with few exceptions) at approximately 2000-year intervals (48-hour intervals from a Next Level perspective) until that civilization's final "Age."
2) Teaching that our bodies are
simply containers for our souls, and that, at the time of death,
the soul is simply released and the body dies. The Bible teaches
this fact in several instances: a) Romans 9:21-24 -- Likening
our bodies to vessels of pottery b) 2 Cor 4:6-7 -- We
have God's Glory His Treasure, in earthen vessels c) 1 Cor 15:42-45
-- We have a distinct spiritual body and a separate physical body
d) Romans 7:13-25 teaches that the Redeemed soul is constantly
in mortal conflict with the physical body, again emphasizing that
the body is distinct from the soul.
Heaven's Gate taught
this fact also. "Not only is the body, in a sense, the temporary
container for the soul, but even more importantly the soul is
the housing or container of the new creature." [Heaven's
Gate Web Page, specifically from the link, "Statement By
An E.T. Presently Incarnate", Paragraph 10]
3) The Bible teaches that we will meet Jesus Christ in the air, at the time of the Rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." Note that the Raptured will meet, or rendezvous "in the clouds". Now, listen to the teaching of this Heaven's Gate cult. "The final act of metamorphosis or separation from the human kingdom is the "disconnect" or separation from the human physical container or body in order to be released from the human environment and enter the "next" world or physical environment of the Next Level. This will be done under the supervision of Members of the Next Level in a clinical procedure. We will rendezvous in the 'clouds' (a giant mothership) for our briefing and journey to the Kingdom of the Literal Heavens." [Heaven's Gate Web Page, specifically from the link, "Statement By An E.T. Presently Incarnate", Paragraph 10]
4) Jesus taught in John 3:16-19 that the basis of final judgment for all people will be how they responded to His message and His Gospel. Verse 18b-19 says, "but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." I have heard many a preacher warn the unsaved in his audience that, once they had heard the Gospel, they were under a special responsibility as to how they responded to the message. On Judgment Day, each person will be responsible for how they responded to the Gospel.
Now, listen to the teaching of Heaven's Gate in this regard. "Now that we are here again, how an individual responds to us and our information will, in fact, judge that individual as to whether he or she will, or will not, have a further relationship with the Next Level. In other words, coming in contact with this information will force a decision for all with souls, and the stand they individually take will judge or determine their future." [Heaven's Gate Web Page, specifically from the link, "Statement By An E.T. Presently Incarnate", Paragraph 10]
5) The Bible records that when Lucifer led his rebellion, one-third of the angels in Heaven sided with Him against God. We see this teaching in Revelation 12:3-4a, "And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth"
Now, listen to the teaching of Heaven's Gate, "Those with souls -- who fall away -- become a part of the opposition to the Next Level. Once, in a prior civilization, records suggest that a third of the class fell and the strongest, and thereby leader, of those fallen, was called "Lucifer" (or Satan). Even today they occupy the near heavens as what humans refer to as "space aliens." [Heaven's Gate Web Page, specifically from the link, "Statement By An E.T. Presently Incarnate", Paragraph 16]
Here we see several parallels with Scripture: 1) The souls who rebelled became part of the opposition to the Next Level. Isn't that what happened to Lucifer and his angels? They became part of the opposition to the True Next Level, God's Heaven; 2) One-third of all the angels in Heaven rebelled and were cursed; 3) Heaven's Gate also teaches that the name of the leader of this rebellion was Lucifer (Satan) 4) Today, these rebellious ones "occupy the near heavens, as what humans refer to as 'space aliens'. Isn't this what the Apostle Paul revealed, that Satan is the "Prince of the Power of the Air" [Ephesians 2:2]?
6) Jesus declared: "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." [Rev 1:8] We see this statement repeated in Revelation 1:11; 21:6, and 22:13. Jesus is the "beginning and the end".
The name taken by the two founders was "Do" taken by the man, and 'Ti', taken by the woman. In the link entitled "Do's Intro: Purpose - Belief", Do claims to be of the same spirit as the One that was in Jesus 2,000 years ago, and their mission is the same. If these two Heaven's Gate cult leaders took their names from the common musical scale [Do, Re, Me, Fa, So, La, Di, Do].it becomes apparent that "Do" is the "beginning and the end" of this cult!!
7) Jesus solemnly declared that anyone who wanted to be saved through His sacrifice, who wanted to be His disciple, must renounce this world and what is in the world, and must place Him as the #1 love of their life. In Luke 14:26, Jesus declared, "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." Then, in verse 33, Jesus stated this truth more succinctly, "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple."
Heaven's Gate also teaches this same principle. In the link, "Do's Intro", Do says, ""The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" meant - 'since I am here, and I am from that Kingdom, if you leave everything of this world and follow me, I can take you into my Father's Kingdom.' ... They could get to His Father only through total reliance upon Him."
Doesn't this sound suspiciously like the Bible? But, listen on.
"Leaving behind this world included: family, sensuality, selfish desires, your human mind, and even your human body if it be required of you - all mammalian ways, thinking, and behavior. Since He had been through this metamorphic transition Himself from human to Level Above Human - under the guidance of His Father - He was qualified to take others through that same discipline and transition. Remember, the One who incarnated in Jesus was sent for one purpose only, to say, 'If you want to go to Heaven, I can take you through that gate - it requires everything of you.' "
Then, just to ensure that no one misunderstood this principle, Do repeated it in a little different way, "Our mission is exactly the same. I am in the same position to today's society as was the One that was in Jesus then. My being here now is actually a continuation of that last task as was promised, to those who were students 2000 years ago."
Now, the planners of the New World Order can factually claim that, in the eyes of Heaven's Gate, they were just asking their followers to do only what Jesus Christ demanded of His followers 2,000 years ago! We can be painted with the same brush as Heaven's Gate is being painted! We can be painted as being very, very dangerous to society, as being capable of mass murder/suicide, or of carrying out extremist acts such as terrorism! The propagandist truly has all the material he needs to convince the average American that the Fundamentalist Christian poses the same risk to society as did Heaven's Gate, or the Branch Davidians, or the Jones cult in Guyana. Truly, the situation is deteriorating in America today. Finally, remember our earlier discussions over the fact that propagandists, using the Mass Media, have given Arab extremist terrorists the label, "Fundamentalist", the exact label we apply to ourselves? This deliberate mislabeling has occurred even though Arab extremists are violating the basic tenets of Islam by carrying out their murderous acts. We can only conclude that this mislabeling was done to paint the same perverted picture of Fundamentalist Christians in the minds of the average American that we know exists there for the Arab terrorists.
When you combine the Heaven's Gate fiasco with the murderous terrorism of the Arab terrorists, you get the composite picture that the Christian Fundamentalist contains elements from both nefarious camps! I believe we are in the same final stages in this "devaluation" of Fundamental Christianity as Hitler was in 1938, versus the Jews, when he finally felt free enough to launch his 7-year Holocaust! Time is really short, my friends; are you working your hardest now, before the Night falls when no man can work?
In closing, I want to speak about those terrible images of people's bodies laying about everywhere in that mansion, draped with the purple shrouds. While we were horrified that we were looking at death, at least the scenes were not so graphic and horrible as the scenes in Guyana. Why is Satan staging so many of these scenes of mass suicide in these Last Days of Time? Why does he feel it is so important to "condition" the peoples of the world to these scenes of so many dead bodies, left behind in mass religious suicide pacts? Could the reason be that Satan knows that, very soon, the world will be viewing, and dealing with, the greatest number of dead bodies the world has ever seen, and he wants everyone to believe that this instance of dead bodies is also the result of mass suicide?
Of course, I am speaking of the Rapture of the Church. Now, before you react instinctively to what I am saying, hear me out. I have always believed, like most other Fundamentalist Baptists, that the Rapture will snatch the present body and its soul, from this Earth into the air to meet Jesus Christ, and that, somewhere in the air, this mortal body would be changed, to "put on immortality" [1 Cor 15:52-55]
Let us review this Scripture in its entirety, "Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" The Apostle Paul then goes on to praise the Lord Jesus Christ for giving us this victory."
Then, in the companion Scripture which details the Rapture, we see a similar picture. "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
The key to this verse, in understanding what might happen to our physical, mortal bodies, seems to lie in one word, and then one phrase. The one word is "sleep" where Paul says, "We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed". The word, "sleep" is Strong's #2837. koimao, koy-mah'-o; from G2749; to put to sleep, i.e. (pass. or reflex.) to slumber; fig. to decease:--(be a-, fall a-, fall on) sleep, be dead." Thus, Paul seems to be saying that we shall not all "be dead", but we shall all be changed. It seems that Paul seems to be saying that those living saints shall not physically die, but will all be changed. Thus, we believe that our bodies shall be snatched away from this earthly dimension, and shall go to meet the Lord in the air. I do believe this scenario. And, as I stated before, demonic 'guiding spirits' are informing New Age adherents that, shortly after Antichrist arises, there shall be a simultaneous disappearance of the millions of people that could never accept the claims of The Christ. So, we still believe it highly likely that our mortal body and our soul, will be snatched out of this dimension, disappearing completely. This is the traditional position of Fundamentalist Christians.
But, I still see the images of all those dead bodies, killed in a mass suicide pact and I still wonder why Satan feels it so necessary to flaunt these images before the world so repeatedly. Before we leave this subject of the word, "sleep", let us go to John 11:12-14, where Lazarus has died. Not only has Lazarus died, but he has been dead at least 3 days before Jesus and His disciples left to go to where he has been laid. Listen to Jesus' concept about the death of a believer in Him, "'Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.' Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, 'Lazarus is dead.'"
The Lord Himself defines this issue
of the death of a believer, saying that we do not die, in His
eyes, but we just sleep. In this instance, in Jesus' eyes, Lazarus
had not died, even though his body was starting to decay; rather,
he was just sleeping. Sleep did not mean "death" in
Jesus' definition, even though his disciples considered him dead.
Is it possible, therefore, in God's eyes, that the believers
taken at the Rapture -- if the souls are released from the body,
leaving the body to fall to the ground "dead" -- are
not "dead" but are simply changed?
The key phrase to consider is, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds". Again, we assume this is speaking of our living bodies, housing our souls, being caught up in the air. But, this is an interpretation on our part, because the Bible is deliberately vague on this point. Is it possible that God plans on calling our immortal souls out of our bodies, and uniting them with a glorified body on the way up to rendezvous with the Lord? The "we" in Paul's statement here could very well refer to our immortal, redeemed soul.
Let us consider one more Scripture before concluding our article. In Matthew 24, Jesus provides His disciples with the key prophecies which will herald the approach of the End of the Age. In Matthew 24:1-23, Jesus gives us these prophecies. Clearly, He is speaking of the 7-year Tribulation Period here, because He refers to Daniel's prophecy concerning the Tribulation in 24:12.
In verse 24, Jesus warns against false religious Christs and prophets arising and deceiving many [doesn't this sound like the Heaven's Gate cult?] In verses 25-27, Jesus continues with this train of thought. Then, suddenly, in verse 28, Jesus says something very strange [remember, the context of this passage is the events of the Tribulation Period]. Jesus says, "For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together." Wait a minute! Who said anything about a mound of carcasses, or dead bodies? Why would Jesus suddenly begin speaking of so many dead bodies that vultures would be drawn to the scene?
In the parallel passage in Luke 17:21-37, Jesus is speaking of His Second Coming and the Tribulation Period preceding it. We see, in 17:31, the parallel passage to Matthew 24;17, which is clearly in the 7-year Tribulation. Then, in verse 34, Jesus is speaking of some kind of Rapture, "I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, 'Where, Lord?' And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles [vultures] be gathered together."
Bible scholars have long maintained that this passage refers to the time in Revelation 19 when Jesus comes back to overcome Satan at Armaggedon, defeating him and establishing His kingdom. And, in that passage, one of God's angels calls for the birds of the air to gather for a great feast of carrion, of the bodies of the army of Antichrist. So, this probably does refer to the End of the Tribulation, not the beginning. This is probably the fulfillment of the final gathering of the elect, in Matthew 24:31. Believe me, I am not out to espouse some new doctrine of End Times. However, I also understand that the traditional view of our entire body getting snatched out of this dimension is an interpretation of the above verses; the Bible does not come right out and say, in so many words, that this type of snatching will occur. It could happen the other way, without doing violence to the above Scripture.
You have to admit that it is compelling that Satan has seen fit to stage so many of these mass suicide death scenes in the past decade. It almost seems as if he is conditioning the peoples of the world for a grand spectacle of this type of death scene that is much, much larger in scope, perhaps worldwide.
Of course, the way in which we are taken out of here will not mean anything to us. Whether our soul leaves this Earth still housed in our mortal bodies, receiving our immortal, glorified bodies before we meet Jesus Christ in the air, or whether our souls are released from these mortal bodies, receiving our glorified bodies before we meet Jesus, will not matter!
But, the difference of the impact on the unsaved people of this world would be terribly different!
The impact of tens, or maybe hundreds, of millions of people world wide, suddenly disappearing from this dimension, with no trace, would be stupendous. The New Age leaders would immediately step forward with their prepared lie, saying that the Masters of the Logos had decided to snap these people to another dimension so their opposition to the Antichrist would be muted.
However, the impact of having to deal with the disposal of tens,or maybe hundreds, of millions of dead bodies the world over would be even more horrific!! Can you imagine the difficulty in burying so many people before decay and disease set in? Why, in major cities, so many buildings and houses would be searched that the burial effort would be impeded, would be dramatically slowed. The widespread and deadly diseases spoken of in prophecy could begin to occur here.
The Rapture of the believers has always been understood by Bible scholars to be a double edged coin: deliverance of the believer on one side, but death, destruction, and judgment on the other side. Surely, this would occur should the physical bodies of the believers simply fall to the ground when the redeemed soul is Raptured. On the one hand, the believer is delivered from sin, death, and sorrow; but, the unbeliever gets his first taste of the death, destruction, and judgment that lies immediately ahead.
One final thing about this remote possibility. Since Christians have always believed that the Rapture would physically take their bodies out of this dimension, they have taught this concept to people who have refused to become saved, i.e., unsaved loved ones, for example. Now, if the Rapture leaves behind all these dead bodies, the unsaved who have been expecting the disappearance of bodies, might not recognize this action as the prophesied Rapture!! Satan is not called the Master Deceiver of mankind for nothing!
No matter how the Rapture of the Church occurs, the fact is that it is very close. We are seeing great numbers of examples of false Christs and false prophets arising, and they are deceiving many. We also see the distinct outlines of a plan to discredit and "devalue" Christianity, so that persecutions may begin.
The spiritual battle is joined. Are you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? This is the reason for this ministry, to enable you to first understand the peril facing you, and then help you develop strategies to warn and protect your loved ones. Once you have been thoroughly trained, you can also use your knowledge as a means to open the door of discussion with an unsaved person. I have been able to use it many times, and have seen people come to Jesus Christ as a result. These perilous times are also a time when we can reach many souls for Jesus Christ, making an eternal difference.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, but have been very lukewarm in your spiritual walk with Him, you need to immediately ask Him for forgiveness and for renewal. He will instantly forgive you, and fill your heart with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Then, you need to begin a daily walk of prayer and personal Bible Study.
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, but have come to realize His reality and the approaching End of the Age, and want to accept His FREE Gift of Eternal Life, you can also do so now, in the privacy of your home. Once you accept Him as Savior, you are spiritually Born Again, and are as assured of Heaven as if you were already there.
