I.
Is it possible for any President of the United States to
humiliate his office more than President Obama has debased
us all, as he weakly ran to hide behind Congress' skirts
to avoid having to attack Syria?
While I was
never a supporter of striking Syria over dubious claims
of chemical weapons attack, I am fully aware of the "real
politick" doctrine that no major power can back down
meekly from an action they threatened to take.
Now, Russia
and Iran are elevated to hero status in the anti-West portion
of the Middle East and the Arabs believe even more powerfully
that they can defeat the West in a showdown.
Over this weekend, President
Obama's staunch determination to launch military strikes
against Syria for her alleged chemical attack on her own
people suddenly began to morph into a position of weakness.

Laughing could be heard by discerning ears
from the capital of every single capital of America's enemies
-- and of Israel's. Obama had just humiliated his office
and eroded the formidable power of the United States.

"The message is that the U.S. can be
safely ignored."
Few messages are more damaging to the influence
of a major power than this one, i.e., "the U.S. can
be safely ignored".
If not stemmed, this belief can mean the end
of the reign of a superpower, or it can lead to miscalculations
that can result in full-blown war. Either way you want to
look at it, this situation holds dire consequences for America
and her major ally, Israel. In the aftermath of the 2006
Israeli intrusion into Lebanon, I warned that the perceived
ineffectiveness of the Israeli Defense Force against an
undermanned Hezbollah force had convinced the Arabs that
they could defeat Western forces throughout the Middle East.
Bush was handily "losing" the wars
in Iraq and in Afghanistan, giving fresh impetus to this
dangerous idea.
Now, President Obama is being rebuffed on
two major fronts: Egypt and Syria.
In Egypt, the Obama White House could hardly
disguise its support of the radical Muslim Brotherhood and
of its president, Morsi. When the
Egyptian military overthrew Morsi in a coup, President Obama
was clearly distressed. He pressed the military to release
Morsi, which the military refused to do. Obama then squeezed
the military to refrain from bloody street confrontations
with pro-Morsi supporters; the military ignored the President.
In every way you can count, the Egyptian military rebuffed
the mighty President of the United States, and showed the
rest of the world in the process that this president is
a "paper tiger".
Presidents Assad of Syria and Putin of Russia
must have been paying close attention, because they provided
a united front of opposition when President Obama foolishly
threatened to launch an attack on Syrian targets based upon
a spurious claim that the Syrian government launched a chemical
weapons attack on its own people.
Returning to our featured article:
"If it looks frail in Egypt, the Obama
administration looks helpless in Syria ... it’s almost
exactly a year since Mr. Obama said the use of chemical
weapons would constitute a 'red line' that, if crossed,
would provoke a U.S. response. But there’s been no
such response, and not much expectation that one is imminent."
I believe that President Obama never intended
to launch an attack against Syrian targets because he is
a pacifist at heart and because he can see the fiasco in
Afghanistan and Iraq that the use of military arms has produced.
But, in this "real politick" world, a major leader
cannot draw a "Red Line" against an opponent if
he does not intend to take the action he threatened. And,
this is the key part to this disaster. Who is now going
to believe a threat from President Obama now that he has
apparently caved in on Syria? When Obama threatens war if
Israel is attacked, will Israel's bitter enemies believe
him?
Not surprisingly, Syrian President Assad chortled
that he had won a great "victory".

Russia also seemed exuberant over Obama suddenly

with cruise missiles in the region, was planning a 'limited,
narrow' response that would not involve boots on the ground
or be open-ended. Russia responded by saying US threats
to use military force against Syria were unacceptable and
that Washington would be violating international law if
it acted without the approval of the UN security council."
Putin's strong warning words were backed up
by movements of his powerful naval fleet. For the past several
weeks, a number of Russian warships have entered the Mediterranean
Sea. Rumors have been swirling the Internet that the leaders
of both Russia and Iran have threatened that they would
respond to any American attack on Syria with an asymmetric
strategy; in other words, their response would be to attack
Western targets throughout the Middle East. Iran and Russia
have the military capability to set every oil terminal of
every Gulf State on fire in a matter of hours. Iran could
also attempt to close the Strait of Hormuz.
Such an interruption of global oil supplies
would devastate the economies of the entire Western world
and would deliver a much greater blow to us that any military
strike could deliver against Syria.
Russia is the clear winner in this deplorable
situation. With this in mind, let us now go to our second
story.

Now that Russian leadership has humiliated the United States,
Arab leaders will respect Russia even more.
Therefore, Arab
confidence in Russian leadership has just skyrocketed. This
reality is important because Russia is prophesied in the
Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy to lead an Arab alliance of nations
against Israel.

Now that Russia is seen as the savior of Syria, while the
United States was huffing and puffing and threatening to
blow Assad's house down, she is now the new Savior of Arab
interests in the world. This new reality is important because
of the prophecies of Ezekiel 38-39, which foretell that,
at the End of the Age, Russia would lead a consortium of
Middle East nations in an attack on Israel.
Let us look at one verse in the famous prophecy in Ezekiel
38-39, that so graphically portrays a Russian-led invasion
of Israel in the 'Latter Days', after Israel comes back
to her land. As describing the situation where God foretells
that He will bring Russia into judgment by causing her leaders
to get the idea of staging an attack on Israel, God lists
the nations that will be joining in the attack. These are
the nations joining Russia in this infamous attack:
1) Attacking from the North of Israel
* Persia -- Modern Iran
* Gomer -- Eastern Europe
* House of Togarmah -- Modern Turkey
2) Attacking from the South of Israel
* Cush -- Modern Ethiopia
* Libya -- still Libya today
Russia's recent diplomatic and military maneuvers
in the Middle East are breathtaking. Russia has become the
protector of Islam, by President Putin's own decree. The
lineup of nations behind Russia is precisely setting the
stage for fulfillment of this Bible prophecy.
In the latter days of the Iraq War, we warned
that American and Israeli threats against Iran were having
