Key Events

Even though Republican Convention leaders canceled almost all activities planned for today because of Tropical Storm Isaac, Mitt Romney will likely be still able to sell himself and his platform to an anxious nation.

NEWS BRIEF: "What a shortened GOP convention means for Mitt Romney", The Washington Post, August 26, 2012

"The decision by the Republican National Committee to cancel the first day of the party’s quadrennial political convention as Tropical Storm Isaac bears down on the Gulf Coast will likely force a split-screen viewership that complicates the GOP’s attempts to tell and sell the story of Mitt Romney."

What does this article mean when it says viewers will be forced to watch the Republican convention in a "split-screen viewership"? It means that people watching the convention will also be watching Isaac approaching New Orleans as a major hurricane, possibly on the par with Hurricane Katrina, which nearly devastated New Orleans in August, 2005. Since a political convention is used to sell the nominee to the American people, will this truncated convention hurt Mitt Romney's chances to unseat Barack Obama?

"Logistically, shortening the convention from four days to three days means shorter speeches for those addressing the assembled delegates and a bit of shuffling of who will speak on what days in order to ensure the faces that Romney and the Republican party want in primetime get in primetime. Remember that conventions — while incredibly scripted and drained of any real drama — represent the single best chance a politician has to introduce himself and make his case to the country ... the average person still only has the vaguest sense of the former Massachusetts governor. (They likely know he was a businessman and may know that he was a governor.) Addressing that lack of voter knowledge is why conventions are still so important — particularly for a challenger candidate running against a sitting incumbent."

Losing one day means that Romney has lost 25% of the time he would have had in showcasing himself and his political vision to the American voter.

But, more importantly, Tropical Storm / Hurricane Isaac will strongly compete for people's attention at every day of the convention, thus complicating Romney's chance to really make a positive impact with the American people. Many voters will be watching news of Isaac instead of watching the Republican "love-fest" with Mitt Romney.

However, if this next story is true, Romney might not need a wildly popular convention to beat President Obama. He has already drawn even with the incumbent.

"The Republican National Convention opens this week with President Obama and presumptive nominee Mitt Romney running evenly, with voters more focused on Obama’s handling of the nation’s flagging economy ... A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows Romney at 47 percent among registered voters and Obama at 46 percent — barely changed from the deadlocked contest in early July."

How important is voter's perception of the economy to this race?

"The Post-ABC survey highlights the dominance of the economy as an issue in the 2012 election. Seventy-two percent of voters say the president’s handling of the economy will be a 'major factor' in their vote this November."

It is a major turn of events for a challenger to have drawn even with a sitting President before either of the political conventions begin. Usually, the convention for the party out of power is necessary to sow enthusiasm amongst the voters for its candidate; usually, the party out of power depends heavily upon the glory and the glamour of the convention to spur their candidate to draw even with the incumbent or spurt ahead.

The fact that Romney has drawn even with Obama prior to the Republican Convention bodes well for his chances in November.

If gas prices continue to remain over $3.00 a gallon through the Fall, Mitt Romney will likely be the new President of the United States.

II. Scientists warn that the current drought and shortage of food might force people to switch completely to vegetarianism.

But, we should not be too surprised, because vegetarianism is the planned diet for the workers in the New World Order!

'There will not be enough water available on current croplands to produce food for the expected 9 billion population in 2050 if we follow current trends and changes towards diets common in western nations', the report by Malik Falkenmark and colleagues at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) said.

" 'There will be just enough water if the proportion of animal-based foods is limited to 5% of total calories and considerable regional water deficits can be met by a … reliable system of food trade' ... The report is being released at the start of the annual world water conference in Stockholm, Sweden, where 2,500 politicians, UN bodies, non-governmental groups and researchers from 120 countries meet to address global water supply problems."

III. A major American city is spending $5 million to poison its own citizens.

If Mayor Adams really took an honest look at the science behind fluoride, as he claims he has done, there is no way he could have arrived at the conclusion that fluoride is safe and beneficial for preventing tooth decay. Numerous studies, including a 2010 study out of New Zealand, have proven that ingesting fluoride does not prevent tooth decay, and that it actually causes much harm."

IV. Israel's position in the Middle East seems to be deteriorating daily!

"Syria is capable of destroying Israel’s nuclear facilities with 20 missiles, Syria’s ambassador to Jordan, Bahjat Suleiman, told a visiting delegation on Wednesday ... He said that Syria was capable of destroying the Israeli installations 'if attacked', despite the grave losses it would incur as a result. Syria has acquired surface-to-surface missiles from Russia and North Korea which cover most of the territory of Israel..."

Israel is, indeed, in grave danger from over 100,000 missiles pointed at her. If her leaders do not choose to use Scalar Weapons to defend the country, Israel will be totally devastated. But, of course, that is the devastation foretold in Scripture of Israel at the very End of the Age. Do you remember?

1) "And at that time of the end, Michael shall arise, the great angelic prince who defends and has charge of your [Daniel’s] people. And there shall be a time of trouble, straitness, and distress such as never was since there was a nation till that time." (Daniel 12:1a; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

2) "Alas! for that day will be great, so that none will be like it; it will be the time of Jacob’s unequaled trouble...." (Jeremiah 30:7)

This is the time of "Jacob's Trouble", a time so perilous that only supernatural intervention can save the nation. Both these verses, above, promise that, even though Israel the nation is going to pass through a time of trial and devastation unequalled in her past, a remnant will be saved. This next verse tells us how many of the Jewish people God is going to allow Antichrist to murder.

3) "And in all the land, says the Lord, two-thirds shall be cut off and perish, but one-third shall be left alive. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined and will test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will hear and answer them. I will say, It is My people; and they will say, The Lord is my God." (Zechariah 13:8-9; Ibid.)

4) "And [when you, Gog, are no longer] they who dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth and shall set on fire and burn the battle gear, the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, the handspikes or riding whips and the spears; and they shall burn them as fuel for seven years So that My people shall take no firewood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for they shall make their fires of the weapons ...." (Ezekiel 39:9)

God prophesies that, after He has personally annihilated the armies led by Russia (Gog) as they were about to cross Israel's borders, He promises the Jewish people that they will not have to worry about gathering food for their daily cooking and heating needs for seven years, because they will burn the weapons left in the field of slaughter. Wait a minute! Modern Israel has never depended upon firewood for her daily cooking and heating needs. When Israel returned to her land in May, 1948, she brought with her a modern lifestyle which did not daily depend upon firewood. If Israel is going to suddenly be dependant upon firewood for her daily cooking and heating needs, that means that her current modern lifestyle has been destroyed. It seems that the level of devastation required to "bomb Israel backward in time" to the point where she is using firewood daily will require the level of devastation contained within these prophecies -- unparalleled, unequaled, and "a time of trouble, straitness, and distress such as never was since there was a nation till that time."

Israel is prophesied to experience terrible devastation, but God will not allow the nation to be destroyed; rather, He will protect them in "The Hiding Place" until the time when Antichrist and his armies are defeated at Armageddon and Jesus takes command as "Warrior King".

Today's events are leading precisely at fulfillment of these prophecies. We will have a "ringside seat" until the moment of the Rapture. Are we going to be using this vantage point to convince the unsaved to turn to Jesus while there is still time?
