I. The shadow Russia is casting over Iraq/Iran/Syria
became more obvious last week. As we have stated earlier,
Russia seems to have thrown her military and diplomatic power behind Iran
and Syria, especially as America is threatening both countries. Let us now
review the stories which seem to indicate that Russian power is real and is
operating.
NEWS BRIEF: "British
Rule Out Sabotage in Iraq Crash", by Ed Johnson, Associated
Press, reprinted in Las Vegas Sun, March 07, 2005
"LONDON (AP) - The likelihood that hostile fire downed a British transport
plane on Jan. 30 in Iraq increased Monday when military officials ruled out
sabotage and engine failure in the crash that killed 10 people. An interim
report by the Royal Air Force board of inquiry excluded a range of possible
explanations, including lightning, collision with another aircraft or cargo
exploding in the crash of the Hercules C-130 transport north of Baghdad ...
the panel did not rule out the possibility that the Hercules, which was on
an administrative flight between Baghdad and a U.S. air base at Balad, may
have been shot down by guerrillas with a surface-to-air missile."
We remember this flight very well, firstly because the crash killed 10 British
Special Forces soldiers, and secondly because this C-130 transport plane was
flying between 15,000 - 20,000 feet, well above the capabilities of even the
most sophisticated Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles the Iraqi insurgency
might possess. At the time of the crash, mass media news reports virtually
ruled out hostile action as a cause of the crash.
However, now we learn that a British military investigative report has ruled
out all other possibilities, and has even acknowledged that guerillas might
have shot the transport down. Hostile action probability is now on the table.
We posted an article on this shoot-down in late January, and encourage you
to read it now if you have not done so already. It appears that our premise
is proving true. This article is: NEWS2004,

If Russia is truly intervening, as we suggested in this article, then the
specter of Russian military protection of Iran and Syria seems much larger
than most people could have ever believed possible. Now, let us examine bold
actions on the part of Iran and Syria which indicate their leadership does
not fear the American military machine the way in which you would expect them
to fear.
II. Bold Syrian Anti-American Initiatives
Syrian President Assad systematically worked out a plan he obviously had
pre-planned. On Saturday, March 5, he seemingly caved in to American pressure
by agreeing to a partial military pull-back, but by week's end, he had reinstated
the pro-Syrian puppet regime in Lebanon and was clearly poking America in
the eye. Why wasn't he so terrified of American power that he would not even
contemplate such a contrary action? Let us review the pertinent news stories.
NEWS BRIEF: "Assad
Announces Two-Stage Lebanese Pullback but Does Not Address International Demands
for Complete Withdrawal", AP Breaking News, March 6, 2005
"DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) - President Bashar Assad on Saturday announced
a two-stage pullback of Syrian forces to the Lebanese border, but failed to
address broad international demands that he completely withdraw Syria's 15,000
troops after nearly 30 years in the country. Assad also did not respond to
President Bush's demand just a day earlier that Syria withdraw all its troops
and intelligence agents from Lebanon before its parliamentary elections in
May. Instead, Assad said his plan would put Syria in full compliance with
international agreements and U.N. demands."
During his speech to the Syrian rubberstamp parliament, Assad even joked
about how President Bush would respond to his plan to partially withdraw.
Further, intelligence agencies were quick to point out that this announced
withdraw was virtually meaningless, since Syria retained the key military
positions, since Syrian intelligence services were being left in full control,
and since Hizbollah was being strengthened on the Israeli border.

NEWS BRIEF: "Assad
Secretly Deploys Joint Iranian-Syrian Units in Lebanon",
DEBKAfile, March 5, 2005 (NOTE: Great map of the region showing Syrian military

"Syrian ruler Bashar Assad gave nothing away on Lebanon in his unscheduled
address to parliament in Damascus Saturday, March 5 ... but we cannot desert
the Lebanese president to whom we have a commitment. Assad’s decision
to redeploy Syrian troops eastward to the Beqaa Valley up to Syrian border
sidestepped the issue. The Syrian ruler did not promise to pull a single Syrian
troop or secret agent out of Lebanon. He also declared for good measure that
Syria's role in the country would not end with a military withdrawal (which
he did not promise.) Disappointed Lebanese opposition leaders predictably
rejected Assad’s statement. We want him to “redeploy” on
the other side of the Syrian border, they said."
This is not the way a leader of a Third World Nation reacts to an ultimatum
from a tough demand from the president of the world's "only superpower"!
Assad should be cringing in terror, contemplating waves upon waves of American
aircraft and tens of thousands of American troops, tanks, and helicopters
crashing over his border. Assad should have completely capitulated to President
Bush's demands.
Instead, he presents a phony speech in which he actually makes light of American
demands.
Now, let us go back to DEBKAfile to see how the Iranians fit into this equation.
You may see a Syrian-Iranian axis being formed to combat the American pressure
on both countries, an axis which makes no sense whatsoever unless a very powerful
friend is lurking in the background.
"Realizing he could not count on Arab support, Assad furnished himself
with an alternative ally. Sunday, February 20, as US Air Force One was ferrying
President George W. Bush between meetings with European leaders, Iranian military
transports were putting down in Damascus military airport. They were the tail
end of the biggest military airlift Iran has launched in the Middle East to
date. Its objective was to set up shared Iranian-Syrian safeguards against
attacks on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear installations and/or Syrian
strategic targets." (Ibid.)
Let us note one important fact here before we go any further: On 2/20, Iranian
air transport planes were undertaking the largest airlift in that nation's
history, ferrying into Syria defensive weaponry which would enable Assad to
withstand an American attack. Since any American attack would be from the
air -- both bombers and cruise missiles -- this airlift could only be comprised
of anti-aircraft capability. And, from which source could Iran possibly get
this type of sophisticated anti-aircraft weaponry?
From Russia, of course. In NEWS2003,
we recounted how Russian President Putin likely started building a Russian
- Iranian - Syrian bulwark against any further invasion plans by President
Bush. The title of this article is: "RUSSIAN
CHECKMATE IN THE MIDDLE EAST?" If you have not yet
read this article, we encourage you to do so now, for these actions by Syrian
President Assad, and the later actions by Iranian leaders make sense only
when you factor in the behind-the-scenes Russian military and diplomatic support.
Now, let us return to this featured DEBKAfile report to see how elite these
Iranian troops are who landed in Syria.
"The fleet of Iranian military transports secretly offloaded complete
elite units for operating, maintaining and guarding a sophisticated system
of Iranian electronic warning stations, radar networks and anti-aircraft missiles
to be deployed in Syria and Lebanon. More than 1,000 Iranian soldiers and
technicians and 600 Revolutionary Guards commandos took up positions on the
South Lebanese border with Israel, along the Syrian-Israeli Golan frontier
to the south and up Syria’s Mediterranean coastline to the west. They
also spread out along Syria’s northeastern frontier with Iraqi Kurdistan
and its southern border with Iraq’s al Qaim and al Anbar provinces.
The incoming Iranian forces quickly assumed the command and control of electronic
and radar systems at Syrian early warning stations in Syria and Lebanon, supplemented
by elements of Signal Intelligence and Human Intelligence. Stationed alongside
Syrian units, they have undertaken shared operational responsibility. The
two chains of command have been merged except in units where Iranian officers
have taken command."
Now, President Bush is not just facing Syria's Assad alone; he is also facing
the Iranians who have taken a bold step to protect Syria from American air
attack. But, where did Iran get the military air defense hardware and the
already trained Iranian experts who will operate this Syrian anti-aircraft
system? Iran could only have gotten the hardware and the trained experts from
Russia. Further, as we report in NEWS2003,
the radar for this sophisticated anti-air network is mounted on moveable trucks
-- easy and quick to fly in and to make operational.
DEBKAfile concluded by reporting that Iran had, indeed, installed a "shield"
over Syria.
"The Syrian ruler exploited American pressure on the Lebanon issue to
invoke his secret military cooperation pact with Tehran and quietly install
Iranian forces, including intelligence units, on the borders of Israel, thereby
upgrading Syria’s and the Hizbollah’s defenses and bolstering
the Iranian umbrella over Hizbollah’s missile emplacements facing Israel.
This strengthened structure also signaled the spreading Palestinian opposition
to Mahmoud Abbas’ leadership that aid is available from a strong Syrian-Syrian-Hizballah
across the border." (Ibid.)
In the past month, Palestinian Authority Chairman Abbas has been toughening
his stance against Israel, so maybe he is getting the message from Syria that
he need not buckle to Israeli - American pressure. Now, let us see how Iranian
leaders are also not acting like they are running scared from President Bush,
either.

NEWS BRIEF: "Iranian
President Khatami arrives in Caracas", Iran Mania, March
11, 2005
"LONDON, March 11 (IranManai) -Iranian President Mohammad Khatami arrived
in Caracas Thursday afternoon from Sarajevo on the third leg of his three-nation
tour which has already taken him to Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina ...
President Khatami is expected to meet Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for
talks on issues of bilateral interest, as well as regional and international
developments. Iran and Venezuela are expected to conclude several political
and economic cooperation agreements during Khatami's visit."
Now, an international trip of this magnitude is unthinkable for any national
leader who is either insecure at home or who feels under a tremendous pressure
from abroad. If President Khatami really was worried that President Bush might
order an attack, he would stay at home, and not dare go overseas for an extended
trip.
Furthermore, the Iranian President is showing great brazenness by traveling
to Venezuela, where President Chavez is locking horns with President Bush.
In fact, just days ago, American Marines and Naval ships were seen in nearby
Curacao. In fact, the number was quite shocking and raised the possibility
that an invasion force might be forming to come against Venezuela. Listen:
NEWS BRIEF: "Curacao Bars Use Of Its Territory To Hit Venezuela",
Rense.com, March 7, 2005
"ABN) The government of Curacao ratified that it rejects the use of
its territory to conduct attacks on Venezuela ... ''On Monday, Venezuelan
press reported the arrival of one thousand marines, Harrier aircraft, Super
Cobra, Sea King and Sea State helicopters, as well as amphibious vehicles
in Curacao and Aruba ... just 46 miles from the oil sensitive Paraguana Peninsula."
President Chavez has raised the possibility that America might invade
him and/or assassinate
him. As we have repeatedly reported, Venezuela is considered
a "Non-Integrating State", which according to the Pentagon's strategy,
exposes the country to an invasion, a threat of invasion, and internal coup,
in order to force a "Regime Change".
Venezuela and Iran are both in President Bush's gunsights, especially Iran.
A worried Iranian leader does not make this kind of international statement
if he is worried about an attack. The next story tells exactly what kind of
a deal Chavez and Khatami concluded.
NEWS BRIEF: "Pic of the Day: Chavez Hugs Khatami", Tehran Times,
March 11, 2005
"Chavez rushes to hug Khatami as he arrives in Caracas late on Thursday.
Iran and Venezuela are set to sign twenty cooperation agreements worth around
one billion dollars."
This agreement is on top of the massive agreements with China worth multi-billions
of dollars, with Russia, with Turkey, and with Pakistan, just to name a few.
Recent news reports indicate that Bush is prepared to offer "modest"
economic incentives to Iran to persuade her to abandon her nuclear program.
IV. Syrian
Breaking News
As we were about to go to press with this newsletter, we received word that
Lebanon's Pro-Syrian Prime Minister Omar Karami, who resigned under popular
Lebanese pressure, was suddenly reappointed and is now trying to form a new
cabinet. If you remember, the world's press trumpeted to the world ten days
ago, the Karami was "forced out of office" that his resignation
meant that democracy truly was on the march in the Middle East; further, his
resignation was heralded as a severe blow to Syria's Assad. Throngs of several
hundred thousand people surged through Beirut to express their support for
Assad.

NEWS BRIEF: "Pro-Syrian
Karameh reappointed as Lebanon PM, opposition rejects unity bid",
Tehran Times, March 11, 2005
"Veteran political figure Omar Karameh returned as Lebanon's prime minister
but his appeal for a national unity government sparked immediate resistance
from the anti-Syrian opposition ... Just 10 days after resigning in the face
of burgeoning public protest against Syria's 29-year military presence in
Lebanon, Karameh was reappointed by Syrian-backed President Emile Lahoud ...
to put together a new cabinet."
Therefore, we realize that, when the world was so happy that the Pro-Syrian
Prime Minister resigned, no one seemed to notice that the Pro-Syrian President
remained in office; it was easy and simple, once the initial furor died down,
for him to bring Karameh back. The hand of Syria is clearly behind these events
and the Syrian intelligence offices continued open and operating in Northern
Lebanon, even as the last Syrian military units redeployed to the East.
All this bold, public activity on behalf of the leaders of Syria and Iran
speak volumes about their confidence in withstanding American diplomatic pressure,
backed by military threat. Something, or some country, is working behind the
scenes to negate the American military threat; that country is Russia. As
we stated in NEWS2003,
"Russian Checkmate In The Middle East?", President Putin of Russia
began his Syrian - Iranian initiative in April, 2003, with the top leaders
of Germany and France sitting behind the podium from which Putin warned that
they would not allow America to effect any more "Regime Changes"
in the Middle East.

V. As Bush's pressure on Iran continue to vacillate,
a report was issued which truly place matters in proper perspective.
NEWS BRIEF: "Data
Lacking on Iran's Arms, U.S. Panel Says", NY Times, March
9, 2005
"WASHINGTON, March 8 - A commission due to report to President Bush
this month will describe American intelligence on Iran as inadequate to allow
firm judgments about Iran's weapons programs ... The report comes as intelligence
agencies prepare a new formal assessment on Iran, and follows a 14-month review
by the panel, which Mr. Bush ordered last year to assess the quality of overall
intelligence about the proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons
... The International Atomic Energy Agency, which has been conducting inspections
in Iran for two years, has said it has not found evidence of any weapons program..."
This commission was formed by President Bush -- it is comprised of his own
men! And, it is stating that American intelligence does not have firm evidence
that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program! Even the International Atomic
Energy Agency is saying with one breath that they do not have any evidence,
while with the next breath express their "skepticism" that the program
is really peaceful in nature.
Let us now go back to this featured article for more information, so we can
learn just how bad and "inadequate" American intelligence is on
Iran. We do not know if they are pursuing nuclear weaponry!
"One person who described the panel's deliberations and conclusions
characterized American intelligence on Iran as "scandalous," given
the importance and relative openness of the country ... former government
officials who are experts on Iran say that while American intelligence agencies
have devoted enormous resources to Iran since the Islamic revolution of 1979,
they have had little success in the kinds of human spying necessary to understand
Iranian decision-making ..." (Ibid.)
What this means is that we do not have the kind of internal spy capability
which would give us on-the-spot intelligence that would conclusively tell
our leaders what Iran was doing, and what they are not doing. We simply do
not know whether Iran is planning to build a nuclear weapon or not!
How scandalous is this situation? President Bush and/or his high officials,
are almost daily breathing fire-and-brimstone warnings to Iran to halt a nuclear
weapons program which our intelligence does not know for certain that it exists.
This scenario is similar to the buildup to the Iraq invasion, but then, only
foreign and United Nations organizations were taking the firm stand that Iraq
possessed no nuclear weapons program. The next segment of this New York Times
article recalls to our memory the sad state of affairs prior to the actual
invasion of Iraq.
"In the case of Iraq, a National Intelligence Estimate completed in
October 2002 was among the assessments that expressed certainty that Baghdad
possessed chemical and biological weapons and was rebuilding its nuclear program.
Those assessments were wrong, and a report last year by the chief American
weapons inspector found that Iraq had destroyed what remained of its illicit
arsenal nearly a decade before the United States invasion. A report last summer
by the Senate committee concluded that the certainty of prewar assessments
on Iraq had not been supported by the intelligence available at the time."
(Ibid.)
These statements should be taken seriously by anyone still naively believing
that Saddam secreted his WMD out of the country and into Syria. The reports
now admit: "Iraq had destroyed what remained of its illicit arsenal nearly
a decade before the United States invasion".
Yet, President Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq on a total lie, which we
have already proven to be a deliberate lie (NEWS1890
and NEWS1890b).
The evidence is overwhelming that Bush and his advisers knew Saddam did not
possess any WMD, and they know now that the evidence does not support the
premise that this current nuclear power plant program is planned to produce
nuclear weapons!
As we have pointed out, Iran has no need to produce nuclear weapons, since
they already have them! As we reported in Newsletter, March 5, 2005, a Russian
general admitted publicly in June, 2002, that Iran possessed nuclear weapons
-- already had them! Therefore, an intelligence unit can look all they want
to at the current nuclear power program, because Iran already possesses nuclear
weaponry -- therefore, this news story shows Iran has had them for at least
three years.
However, a breaking news story indicates that Iran received the necessary
scientific knowledge and equipment from a Pakistini nuclear scientist fully
two decades ago!
NEWS BRIEF: "A-bomb
aid to Iran admitted", The Australian News, March 12, 2005
"PAKISTAN has acknowledged for the first time that disgraced nuclear
scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan gave Iran centrifuges, which can be used to make
atomic weapons. Dr Khan, dubbed the father of Pakistan's atomic bomb, has
been under virtual house arrest since Pakistani authorities uncovered his
central role in a worldwide nuclear black market last year. Pakistan has admitted
in the past that Dr Khan smuggled nuclear secrets to North Korea, Iran and
Libya. But this is the first time Islamabad has admitted he supplied Iran
with centrifuges. Centrifuges purify uranium for use as fuel in atomic power
plants or bombs."
Cutting Edge has been saying for a decade now that it makes no sense whatsoever
to believe that "rogue countries" in the Middle East and Asia would
each attempt to scientifically develop a nuclear bomb, when they can buy warheads
and/or technology and equipment "off the shelf" from a very Islamic
radical Pakistan. Even today, with Pro-West President Musharraf in control
of the government, militants saturate both the military, security and intelligence
organizations.
Pakistan was more than just willing to provide nuclear warheads and technology
to brother Islamic countries, she has historically been starved for cash.
This scientist could not have effected the shipment of all this technology
and equipment without official Pakistani government support, so you can dismiss
as propaganda the current denials of Musharraf's government.
Iran has possessed nuclear warheads for a very long time, and the United
States knows it.
Then, why do we hear President Bush and his officials threatening Iran because
they are "concerned" that the current nuclear power program will
soon, or could soon, produce nuclear weapons? We are hearing these threats
simply to either justify an attack on Iran, or to keep the peoples of the
world in a constant state of agitation -- a key element in the practical outworking
of the Dialectic Struggle.
America may attack Iranian nuclear facilities, but probably will not bring
down her hardline government. The prophecy in Ezekiel 38-39 foretells of a
cooperative effort between Russia, European nations, and Persia (Iran) to
attack Israel at the very End of the Age -- exactly the line we see now. We

Last week, several major news outlets ran editorials which exposed President
Bush's "Democracy On The March" as being totally worthless.
Before we review this expose', however, let us stop for a moment to examine
what a "democracy" is, whether it is a desirable method of government,
and what our Founding Fathers thought about a democracy.
Democracy Definition: "Government by the people, either directly or
through elected representatives ... the people are considered as a source
of political authority." {Tormont Webster's Illustrated Encyclopedic
Dictionary]
The undiscerning person will consider that it is a good thing to force the
spread of democracy throughout the world, as President Bush and his supporters
are shouting. However, our Founding Fathers had no faith whatsoever in a democracy,
for they considered the average person totally incapable in education, or
in sound, rational thought, to be able to make proper decisions for themselves
and for their country.
Our Fathers set up a Representative Republic, not a democracy. They believed
that simple-minded, average citizen can be manipulated by clever leaders who
know how to use powerful emotion as a tool to win elections. Now, if they
believed that, why would it now be a good thing for Bush to be forcing countries
to set up democratic elections?
What is really occurring is that Non-Integrating nations who are ruled by
a strongman are being overthrown, with democracies set in their place. We
all know how easily American leaders can manipulate elections, so why should
we be too surprised that a Pro-American leader has been "elected"
in Afghanistan, Georgia, The Ukraine, in Moldova, the Palestinians, and in
a number of other countries whose names few people have ever heard?
Since little true history is being taught in schools anymore, few people
realize how dangerous democracy can be to the long-term interests of a nation.
Historian Ralph Epperson helps us understand.
"The people in a democracy are conditioned to believe that they are,
indeed, the decision-making power in the government, but in truth, there is
almost always a small circle at the top making the decisions for the entirety."
At this point, Epperson quotes the definition of a democracy found in a 1928
US Army Training Manual. Read carefully, for your eyes are about to be opened
dramatically.
"A government of the masses. Authority derived through mass meeting
or any form of direct expression. Results in 'mob-ocracy' attitude toward
property is communistic -- negating property rights. Attitude toward law is
that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether it be based upon deliberation
or governed by passion, prejudice and impulse without restraint or regard
to consequence. Results in demagogism, license, agitation, discontent, anarchy."

We could not have defined democracy better than this US Army Training Manual!
The results of democracy throughout history have always been horrific, as
the majority begins to force its will upon the minority to the point of forcing
either a civil war or a severe repression against the minority. This condition
is what this training manual refers to as "'mob-ocracy".
America has enjoyed over 200 years of freedom and protection of minority
rights simply because our form of government has NEVER been a democracy. Our
government is a Representative Republic restrained by separation of powers
and by a Constitution! Never, ever forget this fact.
If a democracy eventually descends into 'mob-ocracy', what happens when a
democracy begins to fail?
"Democracies are converted to anarchy, where no one rule, as the oligarchs
seek to control the government themselves. And anarchy ends with a dictatorship
or a tyrannical form of government when the oligarchy imposes total control
over all of the people." (Ibid.)
This is the unfortunate fact of history: democracies fail and are replaced
by dictatorships. Then, why is President Bush trying to impose democracies
all over the Non-Integrating world? Because his end goal is the establishment
of a global dictatorship; if you want a dictatorship as the end goal, the
best government to lead you there is a true democracy!
But, even President Bush's call for a democracy is very flawed, as this editorial
reveals.
NEWS BRIEF: "It
is not democracy that's on the march in the Middle East: Managed
elections are the latest device to prop up pro-western regimes", The
Guardian (London), by Seumas Milne, Thursday March 10, 2005
"For weeks a western chorus has been celebrating a new dawn of Middle
Eastern freedom, allegedly triggered by the Iraq war ... that was bringing
democracy to benighted Muslim lands. First the Palestinians, then the Iraqis
have finally had a chance to choose their leaders ... while dictatorships
such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia are democratising under American pressure ..."
"The first decisive rebuff to this fairy tale of spin was delivered
in Beirut on Tuesday, when at least 500,000 - ... more like a million - demonstrators

VII. The Australian Chief of the Army publicly
acknowledge the severe problem of Depleted Uranium in Iraq!
NEWS BRIEF: "Troops
will be protected from radiation: Army chief", ABC NewsOnline,

"The Chief of the Army says Australian troops going into southern Iraq
will be protected against depleted uranium ammunition. Lieutenant General
Peter Leahy says a military survey group has returned from southern Iraq after
talks with Japanese and British forces there. He says the survey group was
able to discuss concerns about depleted uranium in the area ... But Lt Gen
Leahy says the 450 Australian troops being deployed to southern Iraq will
be fully protected from radiation."
The good general should be thoroughly thanked for acknowledging that depleted
uranium (D.U.) poisoning does, indeed, pose a severe health risk to troops
stationed in Iraq. However, his assurance lacked specifics and is totally
unbelievable. How is he going to protect Australian troops from Depleted Uranium
when he cannot prevent them from breathing while in Iraq?
As we have stated so many times before, when a D.U. munition explodes, the
metal of the round dissolves into fine dust which covers the entire battlefield,
including soldiers passing through and their vehicles, as well as vehicles
destroyed in the fighting. Furthermore, this dust is swept up by the incessant
wind storms throughout the Middle East and blown to areas 1,000 miles from
the battlefield. All a soldier has to do to suffer a fatal dose of uranium
poisoning is to inhale one -- just one -- speck of infected dust.
Some areas of Iraq are poisoned to 1,900 times normal radiation levels ,
but all of Iraq is poisoned to some degree. The more the fighting spreads
to areas heretofore untouched, the more the entire country is completely and
irrevocably poisoned. Our medical resources have long told us that Iraq is
going to be rendered unlivable in no more than 20 years.
Therefore, while we appreciate this Australian Army Chief of Staff for confirming
that Depleted Uranium is a severe health disaster worthy of protecting soldiers,
we must fault him for falsely conveying the truth that he can do anything
realistic to protect his soldiers.

VIII. Relations between Italy and America took
a bad turn last week when a freed hostage, Communist reporter, Giuliana Sgrena,
was attempting to flee Iraq with Italian secret service agents. When
they were just 700 yards from the airport, American forces shot the vehicle
pretty badly, killing one Italian agent, wounding the other and badly wounding
the freed reporter. Let us review some of the pertinent stories.
NEWS BRIEF: "US
attack on Italians in Baghdad termed deliberate: Bush
calls Berlusconi with regrets", The International News, March
6, 2005
"ROME: The companion of freed Italian journalist Giuliana Sgrena on
Saturday leveled serious accusations at US troops who fired at her convoy
as it was nearing Baghdad airport, saying the shooting had been deliberate.
'The Americans and Italians knew about (her) car coming', Pier Scolari said
on leaving Rome’s Celio military hospital ... 'They were 700 meters
(yards) from the airport, which means that they had passed all checkpoints'.
The shooting late on Friday was witnessed by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s
office which was on the phone with one of the secret service agents, said
Scolari. 'Then the US military silenced the cell phones', he charged. 'Giuliana
had information, and the US military did not want her to survive', he added."
These are serious charges, but the most important fact is that the allegations
were made by an Italian government official, giving them a great deal of credibility.
The facts presented in this paragraph flatly contradict American claims immediately
after the deadly shooting. For example, while American forces said the Italian
car was unannounced, traveling at a high rate of speed, and refused to stop
at a checkpoint, the reality was quite the opposite. The Italians said they
informed the Americans they were coming, the car was traveling no more than
25 mph, and the car had already passed the last checkpoint. All that remained
ahead of them was the airport and the flight back to Rome.
Further, the Italian agents must have possessed the type of cell phones which
are also movie cameras, for this paragraph says the Italian Prime Minister
"witnessed" the attack as he was on the phone with one of the special
agents, until the American military shut the cell phone down. The stakes can
be high when the Italian Prime Minister is witnessing the attack as it unfolds,
and then is abruptly cut off by hostile military action!
But, what intrigues me is the last statement from Pier Scolari: "Giuliana
had information, and the US military did not want her to survive". What
kind of information could a Communist reporter have that would prompt the
American military to want her dead? We return to our featured article for
that tidbit of information.
"When Sgrena was kidnapped on February 4 she was writing an article
on refugees from Fallujah ... after US forces bombed the former Sunni rebel
stronghold."
Given the horrible physical destruction of Fallujah and the incredible loss
of civilian life during the battle for the city, American forces have been
attempting mightily to prevent the dissemination of the truth. If this journalist
had any hard evidence which would implicate the Americans in any way in a
war crimes scenario, the Americans could conceivably not want her evidence
to go public.
The ultimate irony is that Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi counts President
Bush as one of his friends. In fact, Berlusconi has made the alliance with
the United States the cornerstone of his government’s foreign policy.
This personal friendship with Bush was noted by a major conservative journal
in Italy.
"If he does not want the relationship to be marked by unforgivable hypocrisy,
the government must insist that full light is shed, that the circumstances
of Calipari’s killing are cleared up without the shadow of a doubt ...
This was a macabre joke of destiny; a tragedy decided by fate' ... Sgrena
was kidnapped on February 4 by an Iraqi group, which called on Rome to withdraw
its troops from Iraq ... She had been shown pleading for her life in a video
... she delivered an impassioned message begging Rome to withdraw its troops
from Iraq. Berlusconi’s centre-right government rejected the plea, and
on the same day used its majority to ensure the Italian Senate voted to extend
the mission of Rome’s 3,000 troops in Iraq."
Then, unexpectedly, Sgrena was released to her government's custody -- two
Italian secret service agents -- and she is nearly killed by American gunfire.
Prime Minister Berlusconi is on the hot seat. We shall have to wait to see
how this matter is worked out. Somehow, some way, the matter will probably
be quietly swept under the rug.
IX. The Iraqi insurgency plunged the country
into bloodshed again this past week; what was different
this time was that it seemed a concerted effort was underway to deliberately
kill officials of the Interim Government.

"BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Insurgents dressed in Iraqi police uniforms shot
dead the chief of a central Baghdad police station on Thursday ... insurgents
set up a fake police checkpoint and stopped the police officer's car as he
was on the way to work at Salhiya police station. After asking his name, they
shot him along with two other policemen in his car. One of the insurgents
filmed the killing ... Guerrillas fighting to overthrow the U.S.-backed government
in Iraq have often posed as police to carry out attacks."

"Al-Qaida militants gunned down a senior Iraqi official ... The deputy
director of the Iraqi interior ministry's naturalisation department, Ghazi
Mohammed Issa, was killed in broad daylight outside his Baghdad home by masked
gunmen in a car ... More than 1,300 police and national guards have been killed
by rebels since the fall of Saddam in April 2003."

"BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Iraq's interim planning minister escaped an assassination
attempt Wednesday after gunmen opened fire on his convoy in the capital ...
Mahdi al-Hafidh survived the attack, but one of his bodyguards was killed
and two others were wounded, the police said on condition of anonymity ...
The attack occurred in the upscale western Baghdad neighborhood of Mansour.
Insurgents have repeatedly targeted top Iraqi officials and civil servants,
who are viewed as collaborators of U.S. forces."
You know the insurgency is winning a guerilla war when the local police will
speak only on condition of anonymity.
NEWS BRIEF: "Weeping
Iraqis bury dozens after attack", Detroit News, March 11,
2005
"MOSUL, Iraq (AP) -- Weeping relatives gathered in small groups Friday
to bury 50 people killed by a suicide bomber ... after canceling a mass funeral
procession for fear of another attack ... Families of the victims from Thursday's
bombing at a funeral in a Mosul mosque held individual wakes and funeral services
after agreeing with community and religious leaders not to hold a joint funeral
procession."
"North of the capital, insurgents blew up an oil pipeline in the latest
attack targeting the country's fragile economic infrastructure ... Mosul has
been a hotbed of guerrilla activity, with bombings, drive-by shootings and
assassinations targeting the country's security services, Shiites and people
thought to be working with U.S.-led forces ... In Baghdad, gunmen in a car
opened fire on a hotel housing foreigners and a driver in another car with
three children was critically wounded in the crossfire.

Find 35 Corpses, Shot and Beheaded, in Two Places in Iraq",

"QAIM, Iraq (AP) - Police said Wednesday they have found a total of
35 bodies - some shot and some beheaded - in two different places in Iraq
... Each of the bodies was riddled with bullets and found wearing civilian
clothes ... A separate discovery was made Tuesday south of Baghdad in Latifiya,
where 15 headless bodies were found by Iraqi troops. The decapitated corpses
were found inside an abandoned base of the former Iraqi army ... The bodies
included 10 men, three women and two children."
These are but samplings of the many articles we posted last week reporting
the level of violence by the insurgency.

China dramatically upped the ante against Taiwan, passing a law authorizing
Mainland forces to invade any province trying to secede from the union.
Now, when Chinese forces invade Taiwan, their action will be legal!

The Illuminati planned as far back as 1952 to give Taiwan back to China (NEWS1282).
As the planned World War III begins to unfold, the vision of Albert
Pike's Three World Wars must be strictly followed. A war must
erupt which will spread to far regions of the world; therefore, after the
war is sparked in the Middle East, a nuclear confrontation on the Korean will
erupt which will threaten the existence of all mankind, and then China will
invade Taiwan. Not only will the Illuminati get its world war, but its coveted
number of three wars -- the number 'three' is sacred because it is the number
of the pagan trinity.
China is taking invasion preparations very seriously.

Minister) Lee warned in a call for support of a new 480 billion Taiwan dollar
(15.24 billion US) arms package aimed at deterring China ... His report came
one day after Taipei lodged what one senior Taiwanese official called 'the
strongest protest' against “threats resorting to violent means”
by China ... China on Wednesday ignored a US call for it to rethink a law
that provides a legal basis for military action against Taiwan."
All major elements are now in place: Middle East, North Korea's nuclear program,
and China's continued saber-rattling against Taiwan. While we cannot know
the exact timing of the final explosion, we know the world is in the push
toward the end -- the final war to produce Antichrist on the world scene.
