"Iraqi parliament unanimously recommends rejection of UN weapons inspection resolution Tuesday three days before deadline."

NOTE: This breaking news likely means that Saddam Hussein will reject the resolution on or before Friday's deadline, since this parliament is nothing more, nor less, than a rubber-stamp legislative body, totally controlled by Saddam. However, it is also possible that Saddam will play the role of peacemaker and diplomat, accepting the resolution in spite of the "advice" of his parliament.

To the average Arab on the street, however, who is always mindful of national and religious pride, a declaration by Saddam that he now accepts the U.N. resolution in spite of the vote of his parliament would be humiliating. We would think this vote by parliament is an early indication that Saddam is going to reject the resolution.
