Petra is the most amazing empty ghost town in the world, and we believe, the hiding place of God's Jewish Elect during the last half of the Tribulation Period, the Great Tribulation. Petra is mentioned more times in the Bible than any other city, with the exception of Jerusalem. You will be amazed at the volume of Scripture mentioning this rock city of 30 square miles, located in southern Jordan just a few miles from Israel's border. Let us quickly examine the explanation from a Bible Dictionary: "Se'lah (called Petra in the Latin Vulgate), rock, the capital of Edom, situated in the great valley extending from the Dead Sea to the Red Sea (2Ki 14:7). It was near Mount Hor, close by the desert of Zin. It is called "the rock" (Jdg 1:36)." —Easton's Illustrated Dictionary.
When God delivers His 1/3 remnant from the clutches of Antichrist to Petra, He will get the glory and the honor. His witness of Israel as His Chosen Nation will be upheld, and His prophecy proven true.
